I took a look at it, and saw some decent deals for games I was thinking of getting, a lot of people seem to trash it (though that Might be just because it's done by EA). Anyone try it? Anyone know if it's good and if not, what is the problem with it?
I've not had any problems with it, IIRC.
It's mandatory for EA games, but if you can live without it, do.
Its incompatible with older EA games (you'll need to download a pirated copy to make them work), it won't work if you reinstall Windows, and often it will simply stop recognizing your id&password for no reason, just like that. And EA tech support is the worst in the industry with clueless morons behind their keyboards.
Origin is the worst game platform out there. Steam is #1, followed by Gamestop and Gamespy.
EA? No thanks.

Are we talking about the same thing? I was talking about this thingy. http://store.origin.com/
Battlefield 3, The Witcher II, Crysis II, that Kingdoms of Amularsomthing , each 20 bucks seems like a good deal.
I've never had a problem.
Have the mass effect and dragon ago games through them. No problems with it.
Question: Do you need to have a internet connection to play the games, like Steam.
No,
it's just for download.
Okay, thanks. I think I'll take advantage of some of the deals.

heh, you might as well go out, hunt for proxies and buy from mexico or india. lots cheaper, still english game.
Yep. Exchange rates can also sometimes work in your favor. 40€ on Steam, or 40$ on Amazon.com for a Steam code? No question, really.
You guys are slightly late. Damn time zones.
Famous last words. Now it's borked my ME3 install. Fuckers.
Never mind. Switched from Comodo Firewall to Windows Firewall for install purposes; everything works.

you need to be connected to launch the game, IIRC. Once in game, for most of them, you can disconnect.
I used it for Battlefield 3. Got to admit, not exactly a fan.
better than DoW 2, where you have to be connected to steam and windows live at the same time :bleeding:
Yeah, there's a couple of games like that. I hate Windows Live.
Haven't had any problems with Origin myself, and I've got about 5 or 6 games there.
