I have to write and read about this stuff, I thought some of you military geeks might appreciate it.
To kick off, have an amphibious tank designed to deliver disaster relief supplies. It has a tread that forms its own pontoon as it traverses land, water and obstacles. Got to love DARPA's video with thrash metal and surprised looking bystander:

Didn't you already post this? :(
No, she didn't.
I wonder how difficult replacing those tracks are.
Yes she did.

Here's one for you military tech geeks. It's a tank. That drives on water. Fast. And saves live.

Well, shit. Sorry, B. I tried.
Well, it got drowned out in the OTT thread, so it makes sense to re-post it. After all, she's no Timmay.

Crap, I don't even remember posing that. Was I drunk?
You like pirates, right? Everyone likes pirates.

Cool stuff
I don't see a tank.
And why disaster relieve?
Why not offensive amphivious operations?
And can the tracks be retrofitted to M1 Abrams?
What about Strykers that walk over water? That would be far more usefull.
Cool tech, nontheless.
I imagine an Abrams would be too heavy.

Maybe an Abrams, but I do see a blurb about "1/5 size." If I'm reading that correctly, does that mean that can be scaled up to 20 tons? :o
