Title: Rapper 50cent supports gay marriage but not butt fondling
Post by: Martinus on May 20, 2012, 02:34:44 AM
Quote50 Cent is 100% for gay marriage but not gay men that touch 'your little buns' in elevators

by Staff Writer, PinkNews.co.uk
19 May 2012, 4:03pm

The rapper 50 Cent has told a magazine that he is backing President Barack Obama's personal support of equal marriage for same sex couples, but argues that organisations should be created to protect the rights of heterosexual men, who might be at risk of gay men touching them up in an elevator.

50 Cent is an unlikely convert to the cause of gay couples marrying as he had previously suggested that men should kill themselves if they didn't enjoy performing sexual acts on a woman. He also joked organising a "shoot-up" at a gay couple's wedding.

Now 50 Cent told Vibe: "I think everyone should be happy. I think a fool is going to go against same sex marriage at this point." Pointing to the support of equality by President Obama, he added:"Look how long it took him [Obama] to say he was for same sex marriages. You understand? I'm up for it. If everyone else is for it, then hey, to each his own. I don't have personal feelings towards it because I'm not involved in that lifestyle. I want people to be happy. It makes for everything to be better."

But he suggested that as LGBT people gain more rights there is a need for organisations to stand up for the rights of heterosexual men. He said: "We need organisations for straight men. We do. We need organisations for straight men in the case you've been on the elevator and somebody decides they want to grab your little buns. Times are changing. Those organizations are set up for at one point they were being attacked for those choices. Now its completely different. Obviously [homosexuality] is more socially accepted."

In 2010, 50 Cent wrote: "If you [are] a man and your [sic] over 25 and you don't eat pu**y just kill yourself damn it. The world will be a better place."

The star, real name Curtis Jackson, posted the message shortly after the death of 19-year-old Tyler Clementi.

The New Jersey student killed himself after his roommate allegedly put a secret tape of him having sex with a man on the internet.

Three other US teens have killed themselves in the last month as a result of homophobic bullying.

50 Cent's tweet was picked up by gay singer Will Young, who tweeted sarcastically: "50 Cent... He is [a] nice man isn't he."

The rapper was criticised in 2010 by GLAAD for joking about "anti-gay violence".

Referring to gay celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, he tweeted: "Perez Hilton calld me douchebag [sic] so I had my homie shoot up a gay wedding. wasnt his but still made me feel better."

He attached a picture of two men in suits running from an angry crowd.

2005 the rapper said: "Being gay isn't cool – it's not what the music is based on. There's always been conflict at the centre of hip-hop, because it's all about which guy has the competitive edge, and you can't be that aggressive if you're gay."

That, ladies and gentlemen, is what I call progress.  :D

Btw, I know that there is a lot of fun to be made at him, as he is obviously rather unintelligent/uneducated but if you translated what he is saying into "rational speak" and took out the hyperbole, I agree with his approach.

Incidentally, I was recently an object of attention from an older, drunk, ugly, fat gay guy (it was in a gay bar but it was a birthday party of one of my friends, so he could not know 100% I was gay) and I gotta say this was rather unpleasant with him refusing to get a hint and leave me alone and getting somewhat grabby. I could imagine this would have been even more uncomfortable/unpleasant for a straight guy. So my question to you is - is this a common phenomenon? I mean it may be the case that we have moved from a situation where a gay guy could be killed/beaten up for hitting on another guy to a situation where because of people not wanting to appear homophobic, gay guys get away with the type of sexual harassment that straight guys couldn't get away with if they did the same to women. Discuss.

Considering he's a muscular dude and probably carries a firearm regularly, I doubt Mr. Jackson has had this occur often.

I was reading Marlon Brando's autobiography several years ago. In it he mentioned that while rehearsing a play (as a young unknown actor) some guy went over to him, grabbed his groin and asked him what he was in to; men, women or children (can't remember the exact wording)?

Marlon responded by breaking the guy's nose or jaw.

Due to having quite a few gay friends and co-workers I've spent a fair amount of time in gay bars and only once I had to deal with being grabbed by a drunk guy.
Some mild verbal threats easily chased him off.

Well, considering Brando inhabited one of the most transparent Hollywood glass closets, he probably liked it.

Incidentally, I'm now sitting in an indie coffee shop and two middle aged (30+) hipsters are talking at a table next to me... And hearing them makes me want to cut my ears off. They are enunciating slowly and without any rythm to their speech, as if every word was coming to them with extreme difficulty. Are they so brain damaged from pot and booze or just retarded? God, nothing makes me want to become conservative as much as coming into contact with supposed leftists.

QuoteThe National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) has passed a resolution yesterday endorsing equal marriage, two weeks following President Obama's move to do so.

The NAACP board voted during a meeting in Miami, arguing that it was demanded by the equal protection guaranteed by the US constitution.

Many observers consider this a positive step in bridging the apparent divide between ethnic minorities and the gay community, and reinforces previous findings from Pew Research Center that African Americans have become more supportive of marriage equality than even four years ago, though they still remain the ethnic group most opposed to the move.

Chairwoman Roslyn M Brock said in a statement: "The mission of the NAACP has always been to ensure political, social and economic equality of all people. We have and will oppose efforts to codify discrimination into law."

The president of NAACP, Benjamin Todd, who is a known supporter of gay rights, added: "Civil marriage is a civil right and a matter of civil law. The NAACP's support for marriage equality is deeply rooted in the fourteenth amendment of the United States constitution and equal protection of all people."

Joe Solmonese, president of the Human Rights Campaign, also welcomed the move, saying: "We could not be more pleased with the NAACP's history-making vote – which is yet another example of the traction marriage equality continues to gain in every community."
