I plan on buying a laptop for my dad for his birthday (next month).
As a mid level power gamer I always trouble downsizing to the needs of the non-gamers, which makes me incapable of answering this question :
Is an I3 mobile good enough or should I go I5?
What does your dad want to do with his laptop?
I don't know how he uses his computer but it's old like matusalem so it can't be that much intensive.
Anyway, I went with a i3.

Should be fine.
Though maybe you should have got him a iPad. -_-

I couldn't have done that. I would never be able to part with it once it's in my hands.

It sure is nice. I like using my wife's from time to time. Still it's a bit of a pain to type on.
