Last week's discussion was particularly weak primarily because of the lack of lines.
Here, some lines for the discussion.

I don't get the appeal of the lines.

Well, if the line is Atlanta 6.5 points over the Colts, you know where the free money tree is...

Both of these look like they have big potential to cover...Jacksonville ought to be able to put up at least one more TD than Indy, and Philadelphia looked pretty bad last week.
That Monday Night line looks like easy money. At Greenbay, Rodgers tossing TD passes with his eyes closed, Minnesota sucking. Gotta figure they're at least 3 TDs better than the Vikes.
The Raiders are looking pretty smart with that Palmer trade right now.

I wonder what Vincent Jackson was thinking on that interception? I mean, I know he's a Charger and that means he's got no heart and doesn't care about winning games, but that's just ridiculous.
Either the Raiders' D line is pretty good or the Chargers O line is not very good.
I thought Rivers was not very well served by his recievers today either.

I think the best guy on the line (Diehlman?) got hurt. Their backup left tackle got totally owned with the same move by Wimbley about 7-8 times.

Announcer said they were down to 6 offensive linemen total for the game.
Wonder what they would have done if they lost two more. Sub in a tight end?
Vince Jackson follows a 32 point fantasy week with a 2 point week.
God Fucking Damn it.

Probably a D lineman would be better.
I can't believe I lost by one point last week! My best week of the season, and I was up a decent margin before Monday. <_<

QuoteQ: In your recent column, you noted how odd it is for six of the NFL's 32 QBs to be named Matt. Not to go all Malcolm Gladwell on you but perhaps it's not so strange after all. Using Wolfram Alpha, you can see that the although the name "Matthew" is only the 16th most popular name overall, it peaked in 1983, making 28 the most common age of all "Matthew's." Now here's where it gets good, according to John Clayton the average age of starting QBs in 2010 was 28.3. There it is, the perfect storm.
Sincerely,
a 29 year old guy named Matt (though not an NFL quarterback)
— Matthew S, Cincinnati
SG: You inspired me to look up 2010's most popular baby names. Did you know "Jacob" was one of the five most-popular boy names in 2008, 2009 and 2010? (My deputy editor, Dan Fierman, tells me that this happened because of Twilight. I don't know how he knows this, and frankly, I don't want to know.) You know what that means? In the 2030s, we might be headed for a glut of werewolf-inspired QBs named after Jake Delhomme and Jake Plummer! It's going to be the Great Depression all over again, only for depressed football fans who can't understand why their QB just threw it into double coverage again.
Haha
The Bengals are who we thought they were, but I don't think Tomlin will let them off the hook.

Good lord. Luckily the Falcons are idiots. Who dat!
Perfect Bears style game against Detroit so far.
Well, 7-3 going into the much needed bye. Top ten offense, top five defense. Andre Johnson should be back after the break (and that's something interesting to note: they've done this mostly without him). Schaub left the stadium wearing a boot, but is apparently okay.
I'm tired of commercials about KFC's cheesy bacon bowl. It looks extremely disgusting, how can anyone eat that?
It's nice to know that, at least this early in the season, the Ravens' fate for the rest of the year is already mapped out: blow opportunities to have a great record for home-field advantage, limp into the playoffs, go on the road for a one-and-out, and be home by New Year's.

David Reed might have to find his own way home.

Yeah, but it's bigger than that, and you've seen it all season long. Tennessee, that abortion in Jax, the hair-of-their-chinny-chin-chin with Arizona, and now this--they have no business letting teams like this beat them, turnovers or no.
It's execution, it's attitude, and it's brain-farts with the Ravens when it comes to the teams they're supposed to beat. I don't know where their heads are, but it's not on the Super Bowl this season.
You're supposed to go on the road and beat a 1-5 team on Monday Night Football. You're supposed to go on the road and beat Tavaris Jackson and his 29th ranked offense.

Way to go, Ravens. Once again, erase the previous week's gains with this week's loss.
Can't win on the road. Can't win after big games. Can't beat teams with losing records.

Next time you're thought dead, remind me to send congratulations.
Looks like my fantasy futility streak will continue. Such a terrible year. Meanwhile, the Browns are still terrible and Holmgren is as awful as I thought he'd be since he got there.
I made the right decision starting Chicago D instead of the Bengals.
But I would trade all those fantasy wins in exchange for a Ravens team that could consistently beat up weaker opponents.

You know, I saw this post about 10 minutes after I heard the news. I was going to post something about it, and then I thought, nah. Let him have his Monday.
It's not unlike the 1988 season, when Bernie Kosar, Webster Slaughter and Kevin Mack only spent the 1st quarter of the first game together on the field all season. So I know, bro. I know.

I predicted the Tennessee loss based on past history after big wins, and did the same (but didn't mention it here) this past week for the Seattle game.
What sucks for me is how the Ravens tend to follow up their disappointing losses: pissed off & hungry (say what you will about the Arizona game, but that was one hell of a comeback).
Still, I'm trying to figure out a way to convince the wife I need to make the trip up to Baltimore this weekend. And convince myself I wouldn't be driving 9 hours each way just to see my team lose :hmm:

I don't know, man. The Bengals are dangerous and for real this year. That's why I'm so annoyed about the totally unnecessary losses; they can't afford to lose those when they don't match up well with the Bengals.
Losing their best CB hurts, but the Bengals' defensive schemes give them fits.
Maybe the Ravens will actually invite Ray Rice to the game.
