Apparently only 150 people came to protest against capitalism in Warsaw today.
Most of them are high schoolers.
You didn't go to the protest? What would your fellow Apple product users say?
 People have occupied Warsaw before.

Invite 1ste Panzerarmeé or the 2nd Belorussian Front and you'll get better turnout.
Incidentally, if the gold standard is a visible sign of economist ignorami on the right, on the left it's this: introduce progressive corporate income tax. :bleeding:
I briefly went to the occupy London Stock Exchange protests. They were interesting. One thing that struck me was that the Transport for London workers were cheering them on and wishing people good luck.
I also saw Peter Tatchell.
Once again lame foreigners have to copy Americans.

Really? Because Rome copied our protestors and that led to riots.
I was speaking in general, not regarding protests in particular.

I wish we'd copy them. We need some high-profile martyrs to get the ball really rolling.

Who will really be that distraught over some dead brooklynites after the police are forced to beat them down?
Apparently the turnout in Vienna was also ca. 150, organizers had hoped for 2000-5000 people.
VIenna is not exactly a symbol of capitalism, more of cronyism among the political elite and businesses.

You're right. Beatings and homicides have never, ever sparked any sort of reaction, whether it be mere violent upswell or political will for change.
The important part is to be sympathetic while they're getting hurt or killed. I would also suggest maybe some self-immolations. It accelerated things in South Vietnam.

The occupy London one slept over in front of St Paul's last night. The Canon of St Paul's spoke to them this morning and said that they're generally supportive of the protests and as long as the people are tidy they're welcome to stay. He asked the police to back off a bit and not try and force them out, as it's the Cathedral's land I don't know if the police can do anything in face of an offer of sanctuary

It's a state church. The state can evict them no matter what some dotty old fool of a churchman thinks.
Here in Stockholm we had the usual suspects. A couple of hundred leftists with nothing better to do. Always amused by how they protest against a state/system they themselves were the architects behind.
The popular media here are having a go at the protesters, because some were spotted wearing $200 Rayban glasses or carrying the newest iPhones. :D

Well it would have to be the reach kids or the hippy kids. What poor kid has time protesting? Even those unemployed can't just sit around protesting as they need to figure out someway to keep food on their plates.

Let this mark the one and only occasion where I agree with both Martinus and Ideo.
In an apparent act of solidarity, some Russians climbed onto a mast of the famous ship, the Aurora, in Saint Petersburg and flew the Jolly Roger. :pirate

I can't help but cringe knowing that some of the usual suspects for protests are bound to be there and they certainly won't be keeping things tidy...
Is the Hipster Spring upon us?
Yup. That's why the hipster revolution happens in October - very old school/ironic.
Huh. It is Oktyabr. I just realized. Neat. Technically, though, we should wait till November. -_-
But there's no day like segodnya.

Well, it's typically hipsterish to go for something old school but get it wrong.
It's a reimagining.

Speaking of Hipsters, I have an urge to beat them with a tire iron every time I see one.
They were doing some "Occupy Cincinnati" march this weekend which made traffic even worse when we were driving home after the Cincinnati-Louisville football game.
I was hoping to see some fistfights between college football fans & protesters, but it was mostly just yelling at each other.
I'd really like to see a college football fan set on fire. I hate those people, clogging up my already terrible city with their Gamecock bullshit.

Then pray with me that they lose at least one but better yet 2 or 3 of their remaining conference games.
