Title: Sid Meier's Pirates... for iPad!
Post by: Martinus on October 12, 2011, 04:37:24 PM
I am downloading it now. Will let you know if it's good, but based on screenshots it seems to be pretty much a port.

I confirm. This is the same game. You just steer your ship on the touch screen etc. Takes some time to get used to, but it's OSSUM.

Do you have any other suggestions for good Ipad games of that kind (Pirates Civ AgeofEmpire, that kind?)

I would definitely recommend Joan of Arc - it's a turn based "board game" strategy - something we used to enjoy quite a lot few years ago on Languish as a PC game.

There is also Civilization Revolution which is a port of the console civilization game made by Sid Meier (it is a bit like Civ 1 reimagined, as it is relatively simple but fun).

Pirates! and Civilization are actually the reasons that could compell me to buy an ipad.

The market for games for android devices is woefully inadequate.
