Er? Why the 2004 retrospective?
Fine year for the ladies, including a tour de force performance of the times?
More years to come!
Tie between Staunton (an accomplished actress in her own right in a truly great role) and an amazing performance by a debutante actress, Moreno.
I like Lara, but her part did not allow her to shine too much.
No vote is bad for this year. I disagree Lara delivered a nuanced and mature performance as Traudl Junge.
Kidman delivers the knockout turn as the conflicted Anna in the maligned Birth.
And please DO NOT bring that Winslet/Sunshine shit into this thread.

I find it hard to watch Der Untergang. I know it's coming but Himmler's betrayal always leaves me in tears.

Is the chick from Downfall Eva Braun or the secretary?
Staunton.
Null vote. Women are less skilled when it comes to acting compared to men, and thus unworthy of recognition.

She so should've fucked that little boy. Now THAT'S what I call an Action-Idea plot point!

Where is the Hillary Swank option?

Where is the Hillary Swank option?
Dude, this is a HABSY thread; that means the actress has to meet one of three requirements for consideration:
1) it has to be a European film, where there are only subtitles
2) it has to be a period piece, where we can go OMFG over costume design
3) it has to be Nicole Kidman in
BirthSo, despite Hillary Swank's success as a convincing actress, her colonial horseface just doesn't cut it in the world of the HABSYS. Now, if she were in
The Age of Innocence or something, maybe.

It's a joke. I am well aware of Habs loathing of horseyface.

It's surprising that he is so keen on the botox-induced petrified-wood face of Nicole Kidman.

One of his secretaries, yeah. The one who was in the bizarre scene at the end with the kid on the bicycle.
The thin hot one, not the dyke looking one.

Actually, I found the scene in which Magda Goebbels forces cyanide pills in the jaw of each of her children grueling to watch.

Eyes Wide Shut.

I agree. Don't remember Days of Thunder well enough to say whether it's better than Eyes Wide Shut or not.

Played by Corinna Harfouch, and my supporting actress winner 2004 for that role. :contract:

And long, long legs.
