YOU ARE FUCKED
HP is dropping the things.
Finally. HP was a fine company, but obviously producing electronic products wasn't its forte.
yeah 99 bucks now or something... coming soon to dollar stores near you: the HP touchpad.
I might pay 99 bucks for it. Just to root it or use it as the reading device in the can.
I always thought WebOS's true potential was in tablets. I still think it's a great mobile OS, but took way too long to develop & no OS is going to survive with just 2% market share unless the parent company is prepared to lose money on it for a while and has a solid long-term strategy.
Great bargain at $99 though. It's no iPad or Galaxy Tab, bit at that price point it only needs to do one or two things reasonably well to be worth it. I may look around this weekend & see if anyone has them marked down that low & hasn't been hit by hoarders yet.
I just saw an ad for the TouchPad on TV.

Was it the one with the woman with the annoying voice? That one is still playing too.

That's the one.
"Now only $399".
I wonder if we'll ever see them as low as $99. I mean I'd buy one at that price (though I still have lust in my heart for an iPad).

Apparently places are selling them at $99, but they are selling out in a hurry.

And HP sez they will do one more production run.
They are more indecisive than most women.

I don't really understand why they're doing another production run. The things have to cost like $300 for HP to build; why do a run to sell them at $99?

Because HP is one of the most wasteful corporations around these days?
I'd buy one if I saw one on sale. I mean, to use as a net-book sort of thing, it's still pretty good, no?
