Personally, I think it's a toss up between Kirk and Sisko. Kirk wrestled barehandedly with the Gorn, Sisko brawled with the Jem'Hadar. Kirk was getting crazy tail while Sisko is just all kinds of badass with a serious temper. Sisko before Kirk by a hair's breadth.
Picard is the refined gentleman and gets third place.
Janeway is all kinds of crazy, killing and bullying indiscriminately one day, being the understanding Samaritan the next. Props for going back in time to kick the Borg in the bionic nads. Forth place.
Archer ... well, he's Archer. And watches water polo.
Kirk's picture is block for me at work.
New kirk or Old Kirk?

New kirk or Old Kirk?
Old series and first ten movies.
Not the Abrams timeline.

I'm just getting the red X at home, as well.
There is no new Kirk.
So tempted to vote for Janeway.
Ended up voting for Kirk(on assumption he meant Shatner, didn't see pic either).
Pic hopefully fixed. -_-
I see it now, at least.
I'm voting Picard. Dude's the arbitor of the Klingon Empire.
Picard is more manly than Kirk (and therefore all other captains). His bald head indicates high levels of testosterone.
No Captain Sulu? :P

Picard by a mile: he doesn't need the pretend-manliness that Kirk engages in, and he is just leaves Sisko in the dirt.
1. Picard
2. Sisko
3. Janeway
4. Kirk
5. Archer
Picard headbutts the competition with his shiny noggin.
Picard is the obvious choice. Janeway does a good Picard imitation but she is no Picard. Sisko is tainted with being a religious icon. Kirk is, like Marti, trying too hard. Archer? Who is this Archer?
Kirk. Because unlike CC I don't think he is trying, he is just that awesome. ;)
Janeway, merely to be contrarian.
But honestly? Kirk. No doubt about it.
If you really want to get nerdy, what about the following ST captains:
Spock (Enterprise)
Sulu (Excelsior)
Decker (Enterprise) - though no, he isn't manly at all
Pike (Enterprise)
Harriman (Enterprise B)
Garrett (Enterprise C)
Esteban (Grissom - explored Genesis Planet)
Robau (USS Kelvin - the new movie wasn't all that bad)
Terrell (Reliant - so badass he killed himself rather than let the eel control his movements)
Pressman (Pegasus - so manly he defied starfleet command and his own crew to develop cloaking technology)
I had to confirm some, but not all, of these names... :nerd:
Sisko; he was willing to work with Garak. :menace:
Not to mention that he could just exude a combination of menace and command presence when needed; Kirk was a steroidal playboy by comparison.
Kirk is a warrior, Picard is a manager.
They were all different kinds of men. Kirk was the frontiersman, Picard was the manager who had any situation under control, Sisko was a military man.
I would say Picard. Kirk is a little bit too flamboyant. Picard is so manly he doesn't even bother to have hair on his head. The only problem here is his French heritage, but I like to think that by the 24th century France might have won a war or two and therefore redeemed itself.

Then why do they speak English?
They do? I just assumed everyone was wearing a babel fish. :nerd:

You forgot he was the ranking officer about the
Galileo, an episode that WAS a clinic on leadership, and one of the great McCoy-Spock antagonisms of all time.
