What's your daily commute, what form does it tak and how far is your round trip ?
What's been your longest regular commute ?
Only consider the journey to your regular place of work, if you have to travel whilst on 'works time' please exclude this.
My current one is just a few 100s of yards.
My longest one was a daily 65 mile round trip in a pickup truck*/whatever was to hand and done at some speed.
* edit:
by pickup truck I mean something like this, rather than what you N.Americans mean by the term.

Right now, maybe three or four miles -- about ten minutes each way. Longest was about ten or twelve miles, which took about 30-35 minutes in the morning & about 45-50 minutes coming home in the afternoon...
Right now I'm rocking out on the LRT. The Park & Ride station is only 3 minutes away from my house, then a 20 minute train ride, then tunnels all the way to my building.
I tried driving to work one day, but it took twice as long as riding the train.
My shortest commute was when I worked and lived in downtown Calgary. I was probably about 8 blocks away. Longest commute was when I lived at a cottage by a lake. It was a 35 minute drive into town.
3 block walk to and from when I work.

Isn't this a rather novel experience for you, you know not having to fend off various large types of wildlife to get to work ?
mine changes by job.

Daily commute to work: about 2 minutes, including a stop to the fridge for a glass of juice in the morning.
Daily commute to school: about 1.5 hrs to go if it's an afternoon class, 2.5 if it's a morning class.

Indeed. Very different riding the train with all the other cattle working downtown. :(
Current is a five minute walk.
Longest was a 50 mile drive.

I abhor lengthy commutes. For now I spend about 30 minutes commuting from the door of my house to my office. In my previous job, it was but a 15 minute walk each way. *That* was ideal.
Doing things in terms of miles is useless, 10 miles through the country is less than 1 through rush hour city traffic.
I haven't had that much of a big commute before, an hour on the bus maybe. Currently...depends what neighbourhood I'm in. 10 minutes-40 minutes walk.
15km drive to work in traffic. Takes about 30mins.
It'll probably go up to a ~40km drive that will take 1h when I buy an house next year (maybe).
44 mile drive from home to OSU main campus (parking lot between High St. and College Rd.), then walk across the campus to wherever my class happened to be. The latter could be three blocks or two miles.
My current commute takes me about 20-30 minutes. It's about...eh...14 or 15 miles. Not too bad.
My longest was when I got back from my deployment and found myself living in Fallbrook, CA and having to drive to Point Loma, down in San Diego. It was about 60 miles, took a long time (yay for California traffic!), and was just generally a fucking nightmare:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Fallbrook,+CA&daddr=Point+Loma,+San+Diego,+CA&hl=en&geocode=FaRI_QEdteMC-Sm3KBK6N4_bgDG0oRpc0NHAhQ%3BFZP28gEdEfUC-SnL33J-86vegDEy2AXPkZuLsg&mra=ls&sll=29.502505,-98.609955&sspn=0.119223,0.264187&ie=UTF8&ll=32.730686,-116.981049&spn=0.921877,2.113495&z=10
I eventually managed to get them to send me TAD to the Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital's quarterdeck until I got out of the Navy. The cost of gas was just ruining me, and everything was made even more stupid by the fact that, due to the nature of the "assignment" (just sit around doing nothing for a couple hours at MSC, then go home), I was actually spending more time driving than I was "working."
The fact that I actually wanted to be on the quarterdeck all dressed up in whites or blues, answering phones, giving people directions, etc, for eight hours instead of sitting around in utilities bullshitting, drinking coffee, smoking, and watching ships pass by on the nice "balcony" (MSC is on top of a hill overlooking San Diego Bay and had a really nice covered balcony thing with a spectacular view) for a couple hours before going home should tell you how bad that commute was.
Oh and Fallbrook sucked.
50 km from home to office. Along the country's busiest stretch of highway. It can take me anywhere from 45 to 90 minutes.
10-15 minutes depending on traffic at the four-way stops. Longest was first year in grad school, about 40 minutes by bus or T + walk.
My current commute is 17.8 miles (28 1/2 kilometers), which takes me about 30 minutes in the morning and 30-45 minutes in the afternoon depending on traffic.
Longest commute was 36.6 miles (59 km), which took about two hours.

:nelson: My 50 mile commute took like 50 minutes.
Current commute is about fifteen feet.
Longest commute was 82 miles.
My current commute is 22 miles. Usually takes about 40 minutes, but can be less if traffic's light.
My longest was 65 miles. It was almost all 4-lane highway, but it still generally took an hour and a half to get to work. I worked mostly nights, so coming home there was very little traffic, and I could make it home in an hour.
4.5 km is my commute, which takes about 10 minutes. My longest was 12.5 km, which I could do in as little as 13 minutes, but in rush hour took 30-35.

Goddamn massholes.
My current commute is 5.6 miles, one way. Which is why I don't give a fuck about the price of oil anymore in my Jammin' Jeep Wrangler.
Longest was 32 miles, one way; which translated into a 90-minute haul on the Mobtown Beltway.
Unless you count bail bonds as a commute, which could land my ass anywhere at a moment's notice.

 I had the 'pleasure' of driving on your funtastic beltway this past summer. Apparently it was a less direct route for me but... I DON'T PAY TOLLS. Except when I have to, that is, which is basically nonstop in Delaware and Jersey.

He's right, tho... people are racist in Boston. Moreso than in the South, actually. I know most of you people will never believe me, but it's the truth. Lettuce = not a typical Southerner.

So, by trying to avoid a $2 toll, you spent it in gas going 75% farther out of your way. Brilliant! AND you missed all the truck stops and their vending machine food!
I don't think it was that far out of my way. I had to go to Frederick anyways to pick up that interstate that goes out to West Virginia.
Also, I didn't need to stop anywhere closer to Bawlmer. I'd already been to my beloved Roy Rogers at the Aberdeen rest area on 95.
My last job, in Korea, was 1 mile to work, which usually took about 20 minutes thanks to traffic lights.
Longest was ~50 miles, which took 1 hour (on the rare good day), 1.5-2 hours (on average), or 3+ hours (Friday afternoons during the summer).
My current commute is the longest I've had, about 6.5 miles/20 minutes one way.

Yeah, we do that. :) Sorry about your rectum.
My current commute is about 5 minutes. My longest commute was about 1 hour.
5 minutes walk.
Longest commute was 75 minutes, now it's around 50 min. All by public transportation.
Half an hour on tram and subway.
Longest was: 15 minutes to the bus, then 45 minutes to train station, then 45 minutes by train, then 15 minutes on foot to the office, i.e. 2 hours. That was during th 12 months practical phase of my public administration education.
My longest was when I was still living with my parents and driving to work (same place as now). It would be between 30 and 50 minutes, depending on traffic.

Too many. Poles consider them a status symbol so most families who can afford them have 2 or even 3.
Up to 2 hours is my limit. Longer than that, and I stay in a hotel.
50 min drive to and from work.
Mine is currently 50 minutes door-to-door, walk, train, Tube, walk.
My worst was over two hours to drive a mere 16 miles each way around the North Circular in rush hour :bleeding:
sigh your first post mean i have to exclude the 400 miles for filming then! :P
Currently, 5-10 minutes with good traffic by car or 15 by bus, depending on the day. When the weather is good and I have time to spare I take a pleasant 30 minute walk home and chill with the sun and the sea breeze.
Longest was 45 minutes by subway, when I lived in Rome and Madrid.
