Title: Buying shoes online? Recommendations sought
Post by: Martinus on April 11, 2010, 04:47:13 AM
Could anyone recommend a good men's shoes' online shop? I'm thinking mainly of dress shoes and/or semi-casuals (right now I am looking for red leather wingtips for example).

If you buy shoes online, how do you know they'll fit?  :hmm:

We have this ingenious concept of "shoe sizes" in Poland. :)

In my experience there's a great deal of variability in how comfortable different shoes of the same size will be.

In my experience that problem arises with different manufacturers. Stick to one maker and you'll be alright. I haven't bothered trying on a pair of shoes before purchase in over a decade.

Aggie's right.  In a just and proper world shoes would never need replacement.

We do have those here as well.  What we don't have are numbers that can universally tell you whether the shoes would fit your feet comfortably.  I've only ordered shoes once online, to replace the pair that fell apart.  I wouldn't ever buy a pair I didn't try on beforehand.
