NORTH HOLLYWOOD -- Authorities Sunday sought at least one gunman who opened fire inside a Mediterranean restaurant in North Hollywood Saturday afternoon, killing four people and wounding two others in what police say was a targeted attack.
The shooting, described as a "blood bath," happened at the Hot Spot Cafe on Riverside Drive around 4:30pm Saturday afternoon, according to Los Angeles police officer Rosario Herrera.
Police officials said the shootings occurred in a matter of moments.
After shots were fired, the customers ran out of the restaurant screaming.
Three people inside the restaurant were declared dead when officers arrived, and a fourth died at a hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Harut Baburyan, 28; Sarkis Karadjian, 26; Vardan Tofalyan, 31; and Hayk Yegnanyan, 25.
Two other victims were hospitalized, and one of them was reported to be in critical condition early Sunday.
The suspected gunman is described as a white, possibly Armenian male, around 30 years old. He fled the scene and is still at large, officers said.
Police said the victims, all men believed to be in their 20s, appeared to have been targeted, and that the shooting may be related to Armenian gangs.
The names of the victims were not available.
Authorities set up a mobile command post near the scene and closed part of Riverside Drive overnight.
At about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, a tow truck took away a late model Toyota sedan that had blood spattered across the rear, passenger-side panel.
Speaking at a news conference Saturday, LAPD Deputy Chief Kirk Albanese said, "A gunman or gunmen came in and we had a shooting with multiple victims dead."
Detectives have declined to go on record about the investigation.
Anyone with more information was urged to call the LAPD's North Hollywood Station at (818) 623-4016.

Sorry if I don't know the ethnic breakdown of every city in the nation.
Well you should know a little more before posting such frivolous stories.

Then maybe you shouldn't try to call someone out when you don't know your shit. :)
Uh, this area is like the Armenian Mecca of America.
Honestly its like you putting up a story about a shooting in the Bronx and then claiming you didn't know black people lived there.
FFS, Tim. Jesus Christ on a stick!
