The expansion is coming out today. Anyone else getting it?
Yeah. Thanks for reminding me.

not now, but I'll get it for sure :)
I will download it tonight.
I took floating holiday tommorow for St. Patrick's Day you see. :pope:
Nah.
Later - took a break in the middle of my 4th playthrough.

Rumor has it that it's buggy. Hopefully it's just rumor and not like the Return to Ostagar download which was so badly bugged they pulled it for over a month to fix it up.
have it preordered, will play after honeymoon and after finishing DA:O
Yeah I´ll get it though release in Sweden is on thursday so I´ll have to wait a few days.
I'll probably pick it up today. But I read somewhere that it's only about 15 hours long, which would be extremely disappointing if true, hopefully it's not.
Dammit! My old character is gone!
EDIT: Nevermind. I found him. I forgot he isn't dressed as a mage. They took away some of my good weapons though. And my hat!
Not happy with the import process. Not at all.
Wuz da prablum?
Installing now.
Apparently I have a chance to win a trip to the Tokyo Game Show
Losing all your equipment is annoying. Looks like you keep the stuff in your inventory though? So can load an old game, unequip, and import that?
Also the expansion broke my codex. Every category has hundreds of entries. Or did they really add over 700 characters and 1400 historical references? Impossible to use as there are thousands of empty entries with a handful of real ones scattered in. Also lags like hell.

It's definitely not a rumour for me so far
Buggy as shit. Good story so far. Sigh.
I'm not having those problems. I am disappointed that there isn't an option to find a nice girl to stick my little mage's staff in though. :(

actually, it was released when it shouldn't have been released. Mistake from Sony or MS, don't remember wich platform.
When I loaded up today, the codex bug was gone. Looks like it was just at the start
Stupid bug came up. I had to chase some jerk though the city and kept having to fight his "hired goons". Unforntuantly once we ended the little chase every time I clicked on him he shouted "That's him, stop him". or something. Very annoying. I think it was because during one of the fight I got interrupted by one of the characters meeting his sister and having a tearful reunion.
One annoying thing: The game just throws quests out at you like nobodies business. Seems like every motherfucker wants something for me. "Find my sister! Help our trade routes! Kill Darkspawn Frank!" One at a time! Give me a fucking minute. I just got here.
Yeah, it throws a ton of quests at you, I hope they don't have any kind of timer.
Also disappointed that you don't seem to be able to have a conversation with your party members so far. Clicking on them just gives one sentence of white text above their head that varies depending on where you are. No conversations like in DA. I'd like to learn more about new party members but I don't see how.
one thing I find very alarming is I can't seem to find my dog.
What happened to dog? He was standing next to Sten, I assumed they went off together
I left Sten to die in a cage. I felt that a guy that butchered a whole family wouldn't be a good addition to the party. Also the gay elf assassin.

Little traitor ass. <_<
Reaving Storm has to be the worst skill in the game. It's the last skill on the two handed skill tree with the expansion. Has your dude stand still and swing his weapon in huge arcs hitting all enemies around him. Only it hardly ever hits, does little damage, and you can't turn it off. Once you turn it on your dude is stuck there swinging in circles hitting nothing until the battle is over.
Yay! More Fade!
Not really annoying like the other one though

.... Did you play this like it was real life?
Generally I can't shoot fire from hands in real life. Mores the pity. :(
About 15 hours in, am at the point where I can choose to move on to the end game. There's still quite a few side quests I can do first though.
The game is quite a disappointment. The story is weak, there is little character development, and almost no continuity from the previous game. General lack of content. Some of the new characters seem very interesting, but you don't really get a chance to interact with them. Big step down in quality from DA, and almost the same price. Luckily I only paid $20, but it still feels too much.

I didnt' get as far in as you (yet) but overall so far I agree. I am especially disappointed at the lack of continuity. Where the hell is my dog? :yuk:
I thought it was generally a bad idea to have the Darkspawn talk. I thought what was cool about them was that you really didn't know why they did what they did. Other people had theories of where they came from and what their goals were but they themselves were notably quiet about it.
Their word usage kinda reminds me of Shale or something. Just very weird.
Am I the only one who thinks it would have been nice to see the Dark Spawn go shoo shoo and deal with a different threat this time?
With this game its always darkspawn this, darkspawn that. Enough!
Finished it. Oh well.
So is it: worth paying for?
I forgot how much I paid for it. You to kill more darkspawn which is always fun.

I take it it should have been a pass? Pity as I loved that game. Perhaps the next full fledged title in the series.
Meanwhile I'm tryiing to muster some sort of enthousiasm to return to LotRO...

At $40, no
Quote from: GrallonPerhaps the next full fledged title in the series.
I'm not that hopeful, they seem to be moving in the direction of a lighter type of game and pooping out lots of rushed addons
Yeah, it started with Mass Effect 2, now they seem to dumb down all their games. Oh well. I'll wait for when it's at 10$.

My friend and I are considering giving it a go. If we do maybe you can be our sugar daddy.

Well, it's good for what it is. Unfortunately, it's got a lot of surface, and precious little depth. There is effectively no pacing.

The add tons of new weapons and balance the game so its not super easy and have each quest not take place in a generic cookie cutter area and suddenly its dumbed down? Sometimes I wonder if the ME2 hating tards actually played ME1.
Disappointed.
The new sub classes are pretty cool though. I hope someone makes a mod to add them in to the original game, I'm kinda in the mood to play that through again with some new classes.
Worth 15-20 bucks. Not 40.
 Since when did expansion packs start costing $40 anyway?
