Title: Health care reform to be approved at 90% by Senate and House
Post by: viper37 on March 09, 2010, 12:41:32 PM
Rush Limbaugh announced he will quit the country and move to Costa Rica if Obama's health care plan is approved.
Right leaning Democrats and most of the Republicans will soon announce they have revised their position on the bill and will approve it ASAP.  ;)

Perhaps we'll finally stop hearing all the republican hysteria about this!  They'll no doubt find some other 'death panel' fake debate to get outraged about.  <_<

I want Rush to move to Costa Rica.  He'll be closer to his suppliers.

What is really funny is that I think the non-republicans have gone on about "death panels" at something like a 15,000:1 ratio to republicans. Talk about a red herring.

What is really funny, Rush Limbaugh got his heart surgery performed when he was on Hawaii, and that was done by their socialized healthcare. He should have refused on principle.

Hawaii has socialized medicine?  I thought only Massachusetts has attempted that on a statewide level.

Hawaii has socialized medicine?

No. They have employer-mandated health insurance.

Red herring?

I think you need to look up that phrase again.  It doesn't mean what you think it means.

Other posters on Languish have referred to tackling people (or Marti tackling people) at a 15,000:1 ratio to Marti talking about it.  That doesn't make it a "red herring."

Hawaii tried to provide free socialized health care to those who didn't have health care but were forced to scuttle it after a few months after having costs spiral out of control.  They were apparently taken by surprise when demand was by far higher than predicted.  They didn't think that if they offered "free" health care that people would stop paying for health care in order to get it for free.  EPIC FAIL.

Those that pay attention to mediamatters should be shot.  Twice, just to make sure.  Of course he didn't claim that he will move out of the US, only that he will travel to Costa Rica for health care if the result of Obamacare would lead to a banning of private practice down the road.

Coast Rica has universal health care and GOVERNMENT RUN MEDICINE. Surely the Rushbo meant a different South American shit hole with cheap access to illicit drugs?

Costa Rica also has cheap private health care for American retirees.  Costa Rica is a well-known low-cost retirement haven for gringos.

Looking at the link it just says he would leave the US which is presumably a requirement if you wish to visit a doctor in Costa Rica.

Do they have cheap private health care because of a vigorous free market that bans all forms of socialism?  Just out of curiosity, as a person who does have government health care have you opted out and purchased private insurance out of principles?

They have cheap health care because Costa Rico allows unregulated private health care for expats in their retirement communities.

I am requird by law to use only gov't run health care, which means that I don't really get health care, I don't even get to see a doctor when I'm sick.  I get a nurse or a medic.  And I have to drive 50 miles to see them.  the beauty of gov't health care.  :lmfao:

My family has a HSA, a good capitalistic solution.
