Title: Sword of the stars
Post by: Josquius on January 08, 2010, 01:27:11 PM
Anyone ran across this?
Spacey 4x game.
Its very simplistic in gameplay it seems, no planet based buildings to be built and all very scenario based, only 5 races. Also from my messing with the demo the graphics annoy me greatly- there is a reason most space games don't do realistic 3d maps and its not lack of ability. I discovered a nice system to colonise and jhave a colony ship at earth but I cant send it there as I dont know how on earth to find it on the map.
Think i'll stick to moo2

Played it some. Some annoying interface features, but my impression was that it wasn't a bad game if you got into it. I did not.

The only thing it does better than Galciv 2 is the brilliant racial colonization vitality system.

The what now? I can't recall seeing that.

What seems good to me is that the 5 races are totally different, use different hyperspace and all.
But the horrible map kills it for me.

I'd recommend turning off random events. There are some early overpowered 'monsters' that will rape you early in the game.

I found the game to be a headache with the map and bland as hell.
