Title: Raditude - Weezer's latest offering
Post by: Camerus on November 07, 2009, 11:34:22 PM
Never having been enamoured with Weezer's older albums - Pinkerton, the Blue Album and the like - perhaps I'm able to enjoy Raditude more than some of their older fans.  So in fact, in spite of the mixed reviews, I find myself listening their newest offering again and again.

Their lyrics are, of course, predictably vacuous and mindlessly hedonistic.  But at least this time, none of the lyrics are so dreadfully abrasive and moronic as on the Red Album.

More importantly, there are a number of catchy tunes and fun, poppy riffs.  Overall, it's a good album for when you crave something playful and light.  I give it 4 out of 5 Pathos Points.

Thoughts?

Meh, they're OK.

But if you're not a fan of their earlier work--and those works are some seminal albums for the current alternative scene--I don't see why you'd bother going in for their later stuff.
