Title: Is this a christian song?
Post by: Siege on August 28, 2009, 06:54:51 PM
I really don't understand the lyrics and what the hell she is talking about.
I suspect is a christian lyric, and in that case I cannot own the song, the same way I cannot own any religious song from any other religion than judaism.
So, can I keep the song or not?

Not funny, Viper.

Mocking your fellow metalheads is not cool.

Yeah, I didn't keep it.
It is not overly christian, but I can't tell for sure.
So its nixed.

Because it mentions a crucifix? That doesn't make the song *Christian* in any meaningful way. Christian symbolism is quite common in secular Western media.

All of Siegebreaker's music sucks, regardless of religious bent.

The funny thing is that he was all hot over Evanescence, who were a religion band.  Siegebreaker is a liar, a false Jew and a true fag.

I only have the evenescence songs that are not overly religious.
I don't have "My Inmortal", or the other one.

The same with Flyleaf.
I could only keep like 3 songs from Flyleaf.

I agree. Mentioning a crucifix is no problem.
What worries me is the rest of the lyrics.
Here is the whole song:

"Invisible"

Dress like we do,
Speak like we do,
Think like we do.

Obey...

Beneath the cold sun
Watching you walk away
Where my terror runs
In rivers so decayed

I am invisible...
I'm in this room for days...
Teeth on every wall...
That never go away.

I'm made of blades and flame...
I'm sick and dangerous...
You're my favorite prey
'Cause I hurt the ones I love.

You're so lovely when you cry.
You're so perfect when you lie.
You can be my crucifix,
Hold me up to watch me die.

Can't you see?
I'm invisible...

Beneath the Pagan moon
One more prey dies today.
On sheets of flesh and doom
Shivering in endless shade like criminals...
The stain still remains
And I promise you, it never goes away.

You're so lovely when you cry.
You're so perfect when you lie.
You can be my crucifix,
Hold me up to watch me die.

Behold,
Feast your eyes as the peripherals explode.

Can you see me now? [2x]

The ugly will resign
When the young blood eats the light.
And one day,
This pain could save your life.

You're so lovely when you cry.
You're so perfect when you lie.
You can be my crucifix,
Hold me up to watch me die.

War on every shoulder
Lye on every eye
We're painting submission
Across the shadowed sky...

Fire on the sides,
Burned and bright, has arrived (?)
Lost in flight, on golden molted wings.

Now do you see?

Now do you...

Now do you see?

[INTRO TO HOME GROWN]

Mama, don't cry...
For believing his lie...
It's not your fault.
It's not your fault.

Paid for our sins,
You protected us then...
And saved us all.

I make this vow,
I promise you now:

He'll never touch us again...

He'll never touch us again...

He'll never touch us again...

The parts of the song that seem christian:

Paid for our sins,
You protected us then...
And saved us all.

Beneath the Pagan moon
One more prey dies today.
On sheets of flesh and doom  ( what's is she talking about? Christian proseltism during the roman times?)

Yeah, but I really like the song.

A shame I can't keep it.

That's why I hate songs with religious lyrics that are sold as normal music.
In Israel religious music is always laballed religious, whatever the religion might be.

Im not a homo because I don't fuck other males, no matter how much I joke about it.
In the military with are always doing gay jokes.

Now, I know have gay taste in fashion and music, but that measn nothing.

Besides, even though I got no problem with gays here, I really, REALLY hate israeli fags.
They are way too agressive and have no sense of humor.
Once upon the time, I use to think all gays were like israeli gays.
Good thing I got over that.

Not funny, Viper.

Mocking your fellow metalheads is not cool.
Look, I do like you sometimes, but this whole "I can't keep the song if it's a Christian song" is a bit ridiculous.  A lot of metal songs tell tales of dark magic, sorcery, satanism and lots of metal bands use such signs.

You like the song, you like the song.  That should be all.  Unless they keep singing about "Jesus Christ our savior" it's usually not 'Christian music' per see, but Christianity is a big part of American's life, so any band, metal or otherwise originating from the US is bound to have some allusion to a passage of the Bible somewhere, just like many tv shows.

Yeah, otherwise you couldn't listen to 75% of classical music.  :P

Anyway, I don't think it's Christian from those lyrics.

Edit: I googled the band. Definitely not Christian.
