Cause the games aren't as sexy :(
QuotePatch was born on June 17, 1898, in Combe Down, Somerset county.
After the war, he returned to his trade as a plumber and married a young woman he had met while recovering from his wounds, Britain's ministry of defence said.
They were married in 1919 and had two sons. His wife died in 1976 and his sons have also predeceased him. He married again in 1980 and his second wife died in 1984.
This guy, who was born on the same day as me (68 years earlier, though] lived quite the life.
If my math is correct, the guy married for the second time when he was 78. Here's to ya Private Patch :worthy: :worthy:

Not in Canada we haven't. That's
our War :canuck:
Live by the sword, die by the sword.
RIP :bowler:
It's sad to see the last of that generation go. The WW2 veterans are starting to dwindle on Armistice Day too :(

Not in the UK. The First World War has more cultural impact and resonance here than any other war (considerably more than WW2).
I really like(ed) the generation of people who were born and brought up before WW1.
Far less bs than their successors.
