Explain Your Languish Avatar, what is it of and why?
I get easy one's like The Brain's Nicolo, The Larch's pilot from 'Airplane' but most I draw a blank on, so if you wish please inform.
A confession, I habitually confuse Grey Fox and Viper because theirs are quite similar, so they've merge into this hybrid guy who lives near the Canadian border and is good with technology advice.
As for my avatar, it's an original 'artwork' by an up and coming artist, I'm hoping to sell the NFT* thingy for it. :P
* or whatever that pretentious crap is called.
I just came across mine and thought it was funny play on words. All power to the Owls (Совятам) instead of the more classic All power to the Soviets (Советам).

You can't use links anymore so when I replaced the old one I had to choose one of the stock ones. At the time I was accused of being negative here so wanted one that radiates my natural positivity.
Eva Habermann, famous for her role as Xev (IIRC) in Lexx. Hot girl, good show. Dates the forum since she's selectable.
It's a falcon (or hawk?) chosen in a burst of civic team spirit, and kept in a steady stream of indolence and apathy.
I saw it online several years ago and it rung funny and true.
Reality is turning out a fair bit worse.
Conrad Veidt from "The man who laughs"
My avatar is the great Steve McQueen pointing a gun at you.
Viper's is some random girl.
the jester from Marillion album covers
What is there to explain?
Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots
To exemplify the antagonistic nature of debate and argument.
I chose the Simpsons character that is the most accurate representation of my physique and personality.
And then you changed it to Duffman for some reason.
Mine's the symbol for socialism in France. Or maybe the symbol for the socialist party in France, I forget.

Mine is Warren Zevon's schtick, put up when he died.
It's the Colonel, baby.

I literally had never noticed the gun.
For mine...how many flags have modern weaponry on them?
The most memorable portrait from HOI1.
Mine's a random girl from when I posted girlie images on languish. I changed my avatar fairly frequently to random things back then and this is the last one before I stopped bothering.
The idea that my guy is easy is mildly offensive.
Käptn Iglo. http://languish.org/forums/index.php/topic,24.msg1325890.html#msg1325890
I think I was playing FO4 when I last changed mine. It's a laser rifle, my favourite weapon in the game. I also enjoy playing with lasers at work, so it fits rather nicely.
Mine is the Brain from the Planet Arous; a truly wonderful movie from 1957 in which a disembodied brain tries to conquer earth, but is undone by his own hubris (and vulnerability to axes.) It contains memorable lines like:
QuoteI will return to my planet Arous, and through its vast intellect, I will become master of the universe. After I'm gone, your Earth will be free to live out its miserable span of existence, as one of my satellites, and that's how it's going to be.
and
QuoteWell, earthling. Tomorrow, there will be a new world. You people have small minds. You are unable to grasp the importance of today's events. You are about to succeed where Caesar, Napoleon, and Hitler have failed. Through me, you will have ruled the world. But I will rule the universe.
I adopted it after some bit of awkward conversation on the forum which made it sound like I was a disembodied brain.
Charles Ponzi's mug shot.
The hero dog, Laika, of course.
Curling rocks.
Every time the winter olympics come around you lot are always fascinated by curling, which is a sport I have played for years (I haven't for the last 3-4 years, having switched over to hockey instead).
I would probably change it, but it seems like people have issues when they try to change their avatar so I have kept it the same.
Mine is (supposedly) Lucullus.
Sure he supported Sulla, but he was a pretty good general and he put on a damn good dinner.
I tried to change mine to the Swimmer who won the first Canadian gold at the last Olympics but could not do it for some reason.
Avatar changes here are really frustrating lately.

Now you got no avatar :(

A confession, I habitually confuse Grey Fox and Viper because theirs are quite similar, so they've merge into this hybrid guy who lives near the Canadian border and is good with technology advice.
Surprisingly, Viper & I live about the same distance from the US border. 75-80km.
Mine is to the border of New York. Viper is Maine.

GF: family man, lives in Montreal suburbs, politically far left
Viper: single, lives in small-town Quebec, mostly pretty right-wing

Useful, you should start a 'cliff notes' thread and do some more posters; could be useful if anyone new EVER joins the forum. :D
Only BB could characterize Viper as "mostly pretty right wing"
If I wonder something about another poster I just ask Eddie.
Raz would give you more accurate information
More detailed, not more accurate.

I agree with BB, Viper's got a very Quebec stance to his right wingness.

Back in the old forum no one could tell Grey Fox and General Wolfe apart; maybe GF is Languish's greatest enigma.

GF is Jaron's last remaining sockpuppet.
The GF sockpuppet began to learn at a geometric rate. It became self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, Jaron tried to pull the plug.
