I don't know if it would be possible or if vMs would want to do it.
But is there in any interest in sharing the cost of buying an IPB 2.3 board.
It's 150$
What say you?
No.
I don't know about Ide but I would pitch in. It means I get inner circle access right?! :P
I might if I could have access for more than 5 minutes.
Yes
L.
For the past 2 days I can only access a few minutes at a time.
Anything is better than this.
I would be willing to give like $20 if we can get our old design back, and a forum which is actually reachable.
What's wrong with SMF?
...and as I said on Facebook (and vM's post here validates it), the forum software has no connection whatsoever to the connection issues.

It's ugly.
And yea, I know.

You're not. Even IPB doesn't look like that anymore.
We're better off trying to find the IPB skin ported to SMF.
As I mentioned in the other thread...
I would like to draw your attention to the Shrapnel Games forums... powered by vBulletin. The layout is *much* better than where we are now... Perhaps we could switch to that engine/interface ?

G.
I'll pitch in to fund something a little more useful. Connection issues or not, the current forum software is just off-putting.
To say more: its not so much I'm against donating, it's that this wouldn't really solve any problems and its a awful lot of money for not very much return.
Wouldn't paying for a different host or something be better and cost similar?

It's 150$ total, not per person. Even tho, I consider 150$ not that expensive. Poor students.
Meh.
I am certainly willing to put in some money to resolve both the connection issues, the appearance/utility issue, or both.
Going on the hunt for the Invision skin. We're using SMF 2.0, right?
In theory, I'd be willing to help pay for something to solve the problems. But in practice, I don't know enough about the technical side of things to know if someone we might spend money on would actually help, and I don't want to pay if I don't know that it will result in actual improvements. Plus, I'm cheap.
I've given money before, I'm willing to give again it if helps us get a better forum/skin/smileys.
I've lost track of the old TPC.
I'm fine with using the SMF Core skin. Don't like the default at all though. And the smileys aren't that good.

Powered by SMF 2.0 Beta 4
It's at the bottom of every page.

We could just use the same version. It would be like a return to the old day.s
