I suppose I should have included 'Simulation shut down.'  :hmm:

I think global warming, pandemic and hostile AI are the three most likely scenarios.  Global warming is only a matter of time.  So is the next pandemic.  I am less sure about hostile AI but I won't be surprised if it happens.

Of these three, I think global warming is the most dangerous or most hopeless.  There exists the political will to combat a pandemic.  It is more of a scientific problem than a political problem.  The same goes for hostile AI.  People will agree that it is a problem worth solving.

Global warming is hopeless.  By the time there is a political will to do something about it, the point of no return would have been reached a long time ago.

Global warming is happening, but is unlikely to end civilization. Neither would a nuclear exchange, I think.

Anyway, I voted "peak everything", since I'm sure we'll eventually run out of something.

Unlike the rest which are just very small risks at this time, global warming is a certainty short of gigantic changes in human behaviour.

That's okay. You included it in the other infinite number of simulations.  :D
