You know, Bruno Ganz, the Hitler meme guy.

The American Friend is one of my favorite movies. He was the absolute soul of it. RIP  :(

That's too bad. Downfall is an extraordinary movie. There's an interview with Ganz on youtube where he acknowledges that the "Hitler Rants" parodies are funny but he is also clearly saddened and frustrated by them.

:(

I too wished he had reacted to it, but it was fake. The subtitles has nothing to do with what he was saying.

No shit.  What's he actually talking about?

Discussing the role and the movie.

Just saw that the Guardian also fell for it and quoted the video as an actual interview about the parody

All I had to do was scroll down and read the comments. :lmfao: Well, a parody within a parody and I've been operating for years as if it were true. My cousin lives in Berlin as well so if I had asked her she would have pointed out my error.

Yes, as Harker. And in Wings of Desire, which I loved, but don't know if it's aged well.

It has. I'm not fond of the ending (never was) but everything else is still fantastic.

Admission time.
I've still yet to see all of that movie

Elderly actors have always struck me as very curious. They keep going past retirement age. Those who make their name big only when they are old seem particularly...something. I'm not sure of the words, though it's an interesting situation

RIP. :(

Did these men stay: Keitel, Jodl, Krebs, and Burgdorf?

Seriously, his Hitler was one of the greatest movie performances in history IMO.

I'll play Captain Buzzkill and say it's two or three good scenes with a lot of filler.

The chick is hot. The movie is great. Love the topless party chick in SS hat.
