Never had the privilege of seeing him play, but I always idolized him. Actually got to meet him by random chance at a hotel in Bal Harbour, FL when he was managing the Nationals. He went out of his way to be nice to me, even before I realized who he was.

I read his autobiography as a kid (though probably ghost written since it was published shortly after is triple crown year in 1967). One of my favorite players even though he retired one year before I was born :P
