What about this, last night reading about old buildings in my local city, Salisbury, amongst the hundreds of buildings covered was this not especially important 15th timber-framed house:

Demolished in the early 70s to make way for a multi-lane road, I beginning to believe the old chestnut about post-war British urban planning having been more destructive than the Luftwaffe.  <_<
