So, I was returing to work from lunch and saw a pigeon with his wing broken, laying on the pavement (people were largely ignoring it).
I called the city services who should pick him up and take him to a vet - but planning to check on the place when I get off work in two hours, in case they just ignored the call. If he is still there, I guess I will wrap him in some cloth and take him to the vet myself.
Any other ideas of what I could do?
Pigeons are generally pretty tame so you should be able to pick it up no problem. Taking the pigeon to an animal shelter might also be a good idea. They usually take birds as well I think.
Ok I will check on it when I am going home and see if it is still there. If it is, I will take it to a vet and ask them about an animal shelter.
Alternatively, I can take it home and put it on my balcony (AFTER I have been with it to the vet, of course!), but Rufus may go nuts over that (even though he is not allowed on the balcony). :P
another marti humble brag thread :D
So I can't post anything about my personal life without it being a humble brag? Are you guys so jealous? :P

Right?
When I was a teen with my mother, she had us stop to get a hurt dove/pigeon. Would have been okay until it gave a coo like a shudder and then died in my lap.
I am privileged to live in the upper midwest :)

Not if you think caring about an animal (and a pigeon to boot) should be considered a humble brag. Was Seedy doing so with his turtle story?
I found a pigeon with a broken wing a few weeks ago, I called city services but I'm pretty sure they just sacrificed it. :hmm:

The pigeon is probably disease-ridden. :P

You do nothing, FFS.
No shit.
I went to check on the pigeon. It was gone. There was however one pigeon feather left on the site.

When I saw this thread title I immediately thought, "Take him home and turn him into a pie, of course." I had Bastilla (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pastilla) for lunch in honor of Marti's pigeon, (though, this being the United States, it was chicken Bastilla, not pigeon.)

It's a worthwhile pedagogical goal, Mister.
Fry it up and eat it.

I am more concerned if it is too old. The meat on young pigeons is more tender :mmm:
Although, to continue on with the Tom Lehrer theme you could have poisoned him (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhuMLpdnOjY).
