Probably an attack, but not impossible it was an accident.

Terror or Accident?
Yes.
Maybe a bomb left in the luggage compartment by an aloha snackbar airport staff member like with the Russian airliner recently?
Perhaps someone who didn't like tampons or washing powder. Seems a big shot of Proctor & Gamble was aboard. The anti washing powder bomber

Wasn't there a movie, The Accidental Terrorist?
Terror? No, there is no way it was scared out of the sky.
Terrorism? Possibly, but it seems to subtle for that.
Accident? It's fucking Egypt. That's always a danger.
How about pilot suicide?
Well the pilot being dead is the agenda, and he's using terrorist means to get there.
Pilot suicide has happened before on EgyptAir:

Too early to say now, of course.
Not to trivialise this tragedy, but from the bit of coverage I saw, I'm sick of the wall of talking heads giving instant opinions on what happened.
Guy's we're not going to know what happened for at least a few days. By all means report it as the main news, outline the few known facts, report from the airport etc, but then more swiftly on to what's happening in the world, hint a plane going down, doesn't cause the world to stop.

Stop watching 24 hour news channels.
Could it have been a black hole
I don't really see pilot suicide as terrorism as much as suicide/murder, which is pretty common occurrence -- "I'm killing myself and taking somebody else with" -- especially over a perceived grievance. Husband/wife being by far the most common, but sometimes on a larger scale, like Columbine or Sandy Hook. On the other hand, Marc Lépine or the Santa Cruz guy were probably terrorists.

The plane was flying from CdG. Presumably they do some technical checks.

That's 17 years ago. Hardly a proof of a pattern.
My bet is on a Muslim Brotherhood (or similar) pilot.
I'm sorry for the Egyptian tourist industry :(
Yet another hard blow to it.
