That Chris Christie thing is one of the most surreal and memorable moments I have ever seen in politics. I will always remember seeing that.

That's what you would look like too, if just moments earlier you had been shown video of your family held hostage in Trump Plaza.

Is Chris Christie's political career over? I mean, how does he come back from a moment like that, on video for all the world to see over and over again?

He is the sitting governor of New Jersey, so probably not. ;)

I...tried to watch Sarah Palin's Trump endorsement speech.  I admit that I didn't have the patience to go through the entire speech.  I am perplexed that she was nominated as Vice President in 2008.  Looking at this entire bunch of people like Palin, Cruz, Carson and Trump who make it this far into the process, I keep wondering, you guys must have better people than that.

I recall watching that while staying at a hotel near Trump's club in Palm Beach. I recall naively thinking that it didn't really matter as Trump wasn't going to actually perform well enough anyway. :weep:

She can give decent speeches though.  Her nomination speech in 2008 was decent.  But when she doesn't have good speech writers...

Hillary barking like a dog or Hillary complaining that the Sanders campaign is lying.

What made the latter especially funny is that Hil's apologists explained that Hil doesn't take money from the fossil fuel industry; she takes money from lobbyists who work for the fossil fuel industry.  Hilary Clinton, woman of high principle.

That's where our cynicism is really hurting us.  When you expect politicians to embody all the bad traits, that's what you're going to get.  Why even bother when everyone assumes you're just like the rest of them?
