Interesting no cities in Europe or in Asia. I guess being the cradle of civilization pays off. :D

Almost all cities are located in former European colonies, though. So they should have stayed under Europe's wise patronage, it seems.

Yep, the BOPE has been doing great. What about São Paulo, pacified too?  :P
More surprising is the presence of Southern Brazil cities, things used to be quieter there, like Curitiba(really?), Porto Alegre (less surprising).
Lots of Nordeste cities, but that's business as usual between droughts and poverty. It seems to be improving, not fast enough though.

Spain's homicide rate is 0,76 per 100k people. Apparently the most dangerous city is Badajoz with a heady 1,72 per 100k.  :hmm:

Surprised to see so many cities outside of Latin America on the list. Baltimore, St. Louis and Detroit top Tijuana?

Of course when cops shoot people in Mexico it probably doesn't count as homicide.

It would be hard enough to bear that Memphis didn't place, but that the beautiful river city should be surpassed by its sisters to the north and south is inexcusable. If New Orleans and St. Louis can do it, assuredly Memphis can once more rise to its heritage of violence and honor culture.

I blame the deaths Prophet Posse and Three Six Mafia have suffered for this troubling set of circumstances.

So out of curiosity, I checked up on Jaron's claim. The following states had lower murder rates in 2014 than Utah: Idaho, Massachusetts, Oregon, Iowa, Hawaii, Maine, Minnesota, Vermont, and New Hampshire.

The reasons for the existence of mayonaise:

1: by some black magic i have yet to lern from the elders for making superior tuna sandwiches
2: for french fries. With ketchup
