Title: Pupil Premium
Post by: Monoriu on October 12, 2015, 02:04:50 AM
Some expert from the UK lectured us on this wonderful system known as "Pupil Premium".  What is it?  Is it based on the number of students who are eligible for free lunch?  What % of students are eligible to get it?  Where can I find more information about it?

Thanks.

There you go :

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/pupil-premium-information-for-schools-and-alternative-provision-settings

Essentially it is a way to provide schools with disadvantaged pupils with additional funds. It is not just about children from poor backgrounds IIRC, it is also given to schools where pupils do not have English as their first language and so on.
