So, this primary season we have a narcissistic billionaire with a political history that's all over the place, taking over the Republican Party via populistic rhetoric, and we've got an elderly democratic socialist coming on strong behind Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary. If they both manage to stun the political establishment and gain their respective nomination, how do you think a Stark vs. Rogers election would play out and who would their running mate be?
Tell me more about the Red Room.

Tell me more about the Red Room.
It's where sexy soviet secret agents like Black Widow were brainwashed and trained.
Captain America a socialist? Is that backed by the comics? :hmm:
I don't understand. Are we talking about the real election or are we talking about comics here?

New Deal Democrat. I'm fairly sure he'd be about as left wing economically as Sanders, if not more so.

America's so fucked up we can't tell the difference anymore. :weep:
Captain America could not be democrat. Just ask Fox News.

Don't believe everything you hear on the news. :P
Captain America democrat? Errr what? That's backwards, he is uber republican.
Equally stark, post iron man, is not a republican. What with the whole anti military thing
I think part of the point of the Cap is that he comes from another era. He certainly can't be a 2010s Republican, but I can see him as a pre-Culture War Republican. He would be an Eisenhower type Republican, but he was on ice during that time IIRC.
Iron Man is the quintessential champagne socialist.
Rogers is a poor Irish kid from New York, so probably a Democrat. But pre-culture War, like you said.

Steve Rogers was an Irish Catholic, poor, sickly orphan who went to Art School and believed in an interventionist foreign policy. New Deal Democrat is by far the most likely option for his political affiliation.
He's a walking, talking embodiment of the ACLU, he organized the first desegregated military unit in the MCU, and lived in the gayest neighborhood of prewar NYC. There's no way he'd be a member of the modern Republican party.
Well of course I am voting for Captain America.
VP speculation
Steve Rogers would probably pick Elizabeth Warren as his VP if she'd accept. She'd be a lot closer to his economic views then most noteworthy Democrats and it diversifies the ticket a bit.
Tony Stark on the other hand, I have no idea who he'd pick. It's hard to say, because like Trump he's not really a Republican, he's just doing a hostile take over of the brand. I could see him picking Nick Fury for the foreign policy/national security gravitas (as well as to have an African-American on the ticket) if he was willing to run as a Republican. If not, then he'd probably choose a moderate like Kaisch.

Ronald Reagan was a New Deal Democrat, too, in the 30s and 40s. Given the time he spent frozen, Rogers is probably about like Reagan was in the late 70s.
I'd vote Victor von Doom. He's the only one who can make America great again.
I, too, can't get over Steve Rogers being a Democrat.
Write-in Deadpool.

Reagan had completely transitioned his political views by the late 70s.
Rogers would be like Reagan was here when he was campaigning for Truman
