QuoteNY Gov: may ask state troopers to round up senators

NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York Governor David Paterson on Wednesday warned that if state senators go home without enacting bills he would seek a court order that would then allow him to order state troopers to round them up.
"That very well might happen," the Democratic governor told Albany reporters.
Since a June 8 GOP coup d'etat, control of the senate has been split equally between both parties, which have failed to enact any bills.
State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli warned the "Chaos in the Senate" could cost local governments $750 million in lost revenues -- a sum that does not even include New York City.

I just love our nation of wild and crazy governors now. :)

Stop derailing this very serious topic about wild and crazy governors people!
Wasn't it in Texas where a few years ago that a bunch of State Senators went to hide in Oklahoma so that they couldn't be forced to go to their government assembly (and thereby prevented the quorum needed to vote on anything)?
Correct.
American politics is weird.
While he's at it, perhaps the Governor of New York could order his State Police to arrest Massachusetts legislators who DO enact legislation?? Please?

IIRC, it was to avoid a re-districting effort.
