Because his stats are horrible. Even by the standards of the interception happy 70s.

perhaps, but when it mattered, in the big memorable moments of football's golden era, there was no better, more memorable, gamer at the helm

he deserves to be in the hall

Hey I love Stabler but this is just not true. How many AFC Championships did the Raiders lose in that decade? What was his playoff record? Not every player that I like deserves to be in the hall.

ridiculous...how many times were the raiders in the championship game despite having to compete with the dolphins and steelers at the zenith of their respective dynasties
