Today is prologue day! And there has already been doping drama. Lars Boom from the Astana team was caught with low values of cortisol, and according to the MPCC(Movement for Credible Cycling) a rider should be suspended by the team if this happens.
Astana is a member of the MPCC, but their response to this? To quit the organization and keep Boom in the Tour.
Credible just seems like too much to hope for for cycling as a sport. :weep:
Just came back from the prologue. It was great, excellent atmosphere despite the heat.
Unfortunately Dumoulin did not make the dream come true :(
First rider has tested positive. This time for... cocaine.
Luca Paolini does sort of carry that rock star look.
2nd rider leaves the Tour after being tested positive. Basso has cancer of the nut.
This shot of Geschke on the last descent of his winning stage is amazing.

Is the Froome controversy over?
One of the only Danes in the race, Fuglsang, was doing really well and leading stage when a motorbike rear-ended him. Goddamnit. :ultra:

Probably not, but people agree that maybe Froome isn't that amazing, it's just the others who are really poor.
What kind of substance is Froome?

Anti-Danish conspiracy in the Tour? :tinfoil:

Yes, ever since '97 when somebody made Riis ride on the most ridiculous looking TT-bike and '01 (iirc) when somebody made Piil click out of his pedal in the sprint and '07 when somebody pulled Rasmussen, who was leading, out of the tour to now.
:tinfoil:
The motorcyclist was driving a camera man from Norwegian Television (they've always been jealous of our superior riders) around the race. The driver, François (of course), has been banned from the Tour.
A little justice.
The vast Franco-Norwegian conspiracy! Sweden not being involved is the only surprise.
Usually when France, Norway and Denmark are involved in war Sweden wins.
How come there are no races for chicks? I might watch that.
There is. http://www.uci.ch/road/ucievents/2015-road-uci-women-road-world-cup/162107015/ (http://www.uci.ch/road/ucievents/2015-road-uci-women-road-world-cup/162107015/)
There even used to be a female Tour de France till 2009.

Only the sprinters and track riders have thunder thighs.

"Georgie Hincapie's legs after riding 15 races in the Tour de France. Veins like this are not uncommon in top bicycle racers."
Well it was a rather interesting race this year, hoping to see more of it in Normandy next year. I think the full route is announced in early November.
