RIP :(

Oh shit.
The guy never got a break.
Okay sorry. I know I've been critical in the recent past but come on. The guy is a legend. This hurts.
MIM, what?
Well, he had made some dumb mistakes recently. And I think his family was mostly to blame. He was doing shows half-wasted. He was cutting shows short by 30 minutes. The guy was done. I saw it myself. I wanted to just tell the King family to let him retire.
THIS JUST SUCKS.
Had the pleasure to see him live quite a few times, he always came to Barcelona whenever he toured Europe. Fondly remember a short duet with Dr John in one Barcelona Blues Fest. RIP for a legend, but he's got a damn good run :(
I didn't realise he was 89. For a diabetic, this seems like a decent run.

He was 89. You are talking about him like he was some sort of Amy Winehouse case.
A fine Memphian and Southerner. He will be missed.
The last time he came here it was obvious his family was pushing him to tour.
I feel bad for the guy because I might have done the same in his case, but he couldn't really finish his shows. I realy hate to see a guy I respect get hammered.
I loved BB back in the day. Like, uh, four years ago. :P
Never heard of him. Isn't a guy like him already immensely rich so that all of this family can live luxurious lives on a trust fund?
What are his best songs?
RIP Neil's favorite human. :(
After listening to about 6 or 7 of his songs, I have come to the conclusion that I do not appreciate his music.
:(
Saw him back in the early 90s. RIP :(
#blacklivesmatter
I guess that makes 3. Percy Sledge last month, Ben E King a couple weeks ago and now BB King.
RIP.
The best show I saw was BB and Buddy Guy together. Even better than the time I was watching BB and Eric Clapton crashed the show. Although that was pretty cool also.
The potato ruined using the hashtag for comedic effect.
:(
His daughters are accusing his manager of poisoning him.

This does strengthen your statements that his family is crazy.
How unoriginal. At least come up with your own flaky music star family conspiracy.

I have one. He is was actually Swedish, born of two factory workers building Ball Bearings for the Nazis.

That's because you have heathen taste in music. That statement would be like me (as a guitarist) saying I don't appreciate Robert Johnson.
Even if you don't personally enjoy the songs, you have to appreciate how tremendous an influence B. B. King's work has been on blues, rock, and even jazz guitarists.
I also enjoy that he's one of a select few 20th-century musicians who really had a mythos built up around him, like the story about how all of his guitars came to be named Lucille. For those that haven't heard it, he was playing a hall early in his career that caught fire accidentally when two guys were fighting over a girl named Lucille. B. B. King got out, realized his guitar was still inside, and ran in and got it- seeing the damage, he swore he'd never fight over a woman, and called his guitars Lucille as a reminder.

It's Mono. He doesn't like polka because it's too "rockish". :P
