Eh...some of the whites were not totally despicable though most of them were.
I mostly just root for them in the Civil War because they were the losers and were, as a group, remarkably absurd. There is kind of a romance for lost causes with absurd goals.
Voted for Jaronovics as both sides were despicable.
Whites were crappy, but it's hard to content that the world/Russia would not have been better off without Stalin.

Yep. The only Russians I ever liked were the Constitutional Democrats and they were pretty much dead by the time the Civil War got going.

I love me a White Russian.

:mmm:
At the time the reds without a doubt.
With hindsight the whites.

That's like blaming Wilson on the ACW.
Whites obviously. Just like in the Finnish civil war.

Agreed. About the only time, too.
Kerensky.
I guess the Black army the Blue army and the Green Army don't get any love. :(
I like the Black Army. Most reasonable side in that war, IMO--and since it's Russia (or technically Ukraine, but whatever), the inevitable happened to them. :(
Null vote - Czechoslovak Legion.
The Nestor Makhno dudes. Them or the Cossacks.
Pavel Milyukov, if we are voting for people/factions rather than sides.
Null vote - I pull for the Ukrainians.

I have seen where the Nationalists get thrown in with the Whites which is kind of weird since the Whites would have crushed them if they had won. I guess it is just an attempt to simplify an absurdly complex conflict.
Or maybe Yi just didn't know about the other factions. In fairness the "White movement" was never unified or organized.
There's apparently a lot of Russian Empire fans on Languish.

I wouldn't say that as that is certainly not what drove me to select the Whites over the Reds.

Take over Nicholas II's body during his coronation, marry some gorgeous 18 year old ballerina and have a ton of incredibly healthy kids, see to it all the key Bolsheviks have "accidents" during their Siberian exile, give Stolypin better body guards, avoid war with Japan in 1905 and make Kerensky a Field Marshall in 1914. No war at all.

I would have made Brusilov commander. But I thought we were talking about who you root for when you read a history of the conflict or something like that.
I confused Kerensky and Brusilov. Very anxious.
