The optometrist found Micky-mouse-head-shaped white spots inside my eye lens. Both of them. 33 years of refusing to wear sunglasses under any circumstances has finally caught up with me. Or so they say.
If it is anybody else saying it, I'll probably dismiss it as an evil ploy of making me buy sunglasses (again). But since the optometrist worked for a public university, I was forced to spend US$100 to buy flip-up sunglasses. At least that's cheaper than getting a pair of sunglasses.
Alright. I admit that I am more bothered by the fact that I have Cataract than the loss of the US$100 :(
What the hell kind of sunglasses cost more than $100? You're not some faggoty teenager, so why would you need expensive sunglasses.
Flip-up sunglasses?
You can buy clip on ones for a couple dollars.

Going cheap on some things is a really bad idea.

I know. Actually I tried one that is much cheaper. It is not good enough. One, the cheap one is not...transparent enough. When in indoor areas, the cheap one doesn't allow me to see very clearly. Two, the more expensive one protects me from UV lights from more directions. It covers a much greater area of the face.
So I sucked it up and bought the more expensive one
You should have just gotten the kind they give to old ladies. Cheap and they cover it all up.
Sorry Mono, your persona is coming apart. Miserly Mono wouldn't pay $100 for sunglasses.
Why don't you wanna see clearly?

Miserly Mono would steal some green glass bottles out of a recycling bin, smash the tops off, grind them down on the sidewalk and then attach them to his face with scotch tape.
You're supposed to wear sunglasses? I never do....
I think the 100 bucks is the cost of the surgery to fix the cataracts.
Sorry you've gotcataracts. You're really too young for that and a lesson in UV protection for us all. Even my plain specs have it. Just got a new prescription and invested in photochromics.
For my next pair, I'm going here: http://www.glassesdirect.co.uk/ (http://www.glassesdirect.co.uk/): presciption specs from £19 with lenses. A few of my friends have got really cool pairs from there.

Yeah my father has been liking those since the mid to late 90s.
Transitional glasses are the best option.
BTW, did the wife explained to you the meaning of the Mickey Mouse shapes? You have to spend a week long vacation at Disney World Resort in Florida. I recommend the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Savannah View while you are at it. ;)
My wife says that I look like Kim Jung Il when I wear sunglasses

As long as it isn't Yoko Ono, you'll be ok.
On the other hand my eyes feel much more comfortable now when in the outdoors. Functionality > looks.

Well duh! It's insane how you refuse to see clearly all those years.
