Title: Sysprep
Post by: Darth Wagtaros on October 08, 2014, 09:49:23 AM
Think I could sysprep my drive so I don't have to re-install the OS for my new motherboard?  I really don't look forward to that.  though I should probably just pay for Windows 8.1 at this point.

The problem with that is that Microsoft likes to hide a bunch of its downloads so validation has to be re-run at the time of download.  A motherboard would probably be enough to throw that off, and I know Wags has been talking about working on MS certs, so probably needs unfettered access to the MS downloads/MSDN.

You can revalidate. Use the phone option, when it ask on how many computer the os is install say 1.

There are MSDN subs without Windows license?

Well my thinking now is to just blow it away.  I won a 60 gb SSD a while back.  I'll install Windows on that, then use my larger SSD for applications(gaming) and the WD for data.  May as well just make a clean start. Just need a copy of Windows.
