I may have a good lead on a job that would require relocating to Edmonton. What's the skinny on the place?
Languish rumour has it that it is a trackless tundra, whose only landmarks are gallows on which hang the dessicated, lynched corpses of Francophones. ;)

I've only really seen downtown, but my very shallow impression is that Edmonton is a lot like Rochester - a nice place to live, but you wouldn't want to visit.
Doesn't feel like a city in the way Vancouver, Toronto or Montreal would. Similar to Calgary in that respect, it's a like a giant suburb with a downtown core. Winter is tough.

Camerus, I've lived here three and a half years now. It's not my favourite place of all time, but it's not bad. It's a very livable city, with plenty of amenities and services to offer. No matter what you're into, you'll be able to find it in Edmonton.
Being Alberta, it's a fairly rich city. That's good in that infrastructure is modernized and up to date (building new arena, new LRT tracks, finish up the new ring road around town), but bad in that houses are freaking expensive here.
The downtown core is nothing to write home about, but if you don't have to come here then you don't have to worry about it - and downtown is making giant strides in any event with lots of new development.
What kind of specific information are you looking for? What sort of job? Feel free to ask here, on via PM.
If you do move, I'll gladly buy you a beer, and maybe even help you move if you ask nicely. :)

The Oilers are about as good as the Leafs ever since... well, since before this forum was created.
