QuoteDog bite victim sues New York City for more money than there is on Earth
A New York man has filed a two undecillion dollar lawsuit demanding what is believed to be the largest amount of compensation ever after he was bitten by a dog.
Anton Purisima is suing a long list of defendants including the City of New York, a chain of cafes and a discount store for $2,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.
Purisima filed his scribbled hand-written lawsuit in a Manhattan federal court on April 11 and is representing himself.
His claim, equivalent to £1,200,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, is more than the amount of money on earth.
In his 22-page lawsuit, he details he is suing for injuries such as an infected middle finger he received after being bitten by a "rabies-infected" dog on a bus.
The 62-year-old also claims a 'Chinese couple' then took unauthorised pictures of him as he was being treated at a local hospital.
Bizarrely he then writes within his often incoherent lawsuit he is frequently overcharged for coffee at New York's LaGuardia Airport.
To back up his claim he includes a picture of his injured finger while saying the pain and other additional damages he suffered "cannot be repaired by money" and are 'therefore priceless.'
Purisima alleges his also suffered civil rights violations, discrimination on national origin, conspiracy to defraud, retaliation, fraud, attempted murder, harassment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
The list of defendants in the case includes New York City Transit Authority, City of New York, cafe chain Au Bon Pain, Carepoint Health, a New Jersey University Medical Centre, discount store Kmart, a hospital's emergency department, NYC MTA, LaGuardia Airport Administration, cafe chain Au Bon Pain and discount store Kmart.
Purisima is no stranger to making claims. Since 2010 he has filed lawsuits against the People's Republic of China and several major banks.
How greedy. 0.01% of that sum should be enough.
I see perfidious Au Bon Pain and KMart are doubled in the complaint!
With the screwed up US legal system he'll probably wind up settling for half of that anyway.... :D
What if Au Bon Pain had to pay (http://what-if.xkcd.com/96/)
Must be a slow news day.

Now this part of the story I believe.
6 months later, copies of Anton began showing up in China.
What are his chances? They don't have to be big to make it worthwhile.
I thought it was cute that they actually bothered to convert the amount to GBP... as if it really matters. :D
Ridiculous story. We can always print more money to satisfy the judgment if he prevails.
Well, it certainly leaves room for negotiation ... :hmm:
This is what happens if you don't get lawyers involved, then at least he'd be suing the real culprit, the dog.

Non of the named defendants can print money. :contract:
If you have a printer you can print money. Not legally but I doubt anybody is going to arrest your for counterfeiting a two undecillion dollar bill from the First Bank of Au Bon Pain.

What an oversight! He clearly needs to ask the court to join the United States of America as a defendant.

Wasn't there stories in the news about some wag in the government or maybe a politician floating the idea of creating and printing trillion dollar bills for the US to pay down some debt? Lol...

I think someone proposed minting trillion dollar coins because of some loophole in the law that only forbid them from printing paper notes of that value.
