QuotePROVIDENCE -
State environmental officials are investigating after someone left a dead harp seal outside the front of a Providence home.
Police said they were called to 19 Evergreen St. at about 10 a.m. after receiving a report of an animal complaint.
When police arrived, they found the dead carcass of a juvenile harp seal that was found alongside the curb. Along with it was a sign that read, "Free Seal: Needs a good home, naps a lot."
The man who filed the complaint told police when he came home at about 11 p.m. Sunday, the seal was not there and that it must have been put there overnight.
Police said the seal carcass was transported to Mystic Aquarium for further investigation.
Aquarium officials say the seal was reported dead on a beach and then later moved. They said moving a marine mammal is a federal crime.
Aquarium officials say a necropsy may be performed Tuesday.
Have they started searching for Canadians with blunt instruments yet?

This bit made me laugh.
After how long dead does it stop being a marine mammal? :hmm:
"What are you in for?"
"I moved a marine mammal."
The seal is just pining for the fjords of Norway.
He's resting.

He's resting.
We had a desert tortoise that died and for several years while my sister was young, we told her that she couldn't seem him because he was hibernating. -_-
A biologist friend once found a dead seal on the beach and threw it in the back of his car to take it to the lab.
He got stuck in traffic on a hot summer day, and eventually had to have the car scrapped because of the smell.
ha ha?
That's pretty silly.
Jacob gets it.

Did she become a serial killer?
