QuoteA journalist with British and Swedish nationality has been killed in Afghanistan.
The man, named as radio journalist Nils Horner, was shot near a busy roundabout in the Wazir Akbar Khan area of Kabul on Tuesday morning.
He died on the way to hospital and the gunman escaped.
Sad day. Horner was one of my favourite voices on news radio. Rest in peace.
:(
What the hell was he doing in Afghanistan?

Doing what journalists should do; the news. Sveriges Radio has the biggest network of correspondents of all networks in the Nordic countries. Most others rely on SR's correspondents for news. the Norwegian network NRK does for most radio news, and send their correspondents into the hot zones when they appear.
I will honestly really miss Nils Horner.

What the hell was he doing in Afghanistan?
Why is anyone there, for that matter.

The cooking and the climate, I'd think. And the raging corruption.

He was trying to avoid tornados. It turns out that not even Afghanistan is without danger. :(

Yeah, let's not cover any news stories in any area that's even remotely dangerous.

I don't think I have one anymore.
After the migration here, didn't you all have to re-register?

It is probably for the best. Some of the old timers might know you from your old handle, but the newcomers won't, and your current name lets them know you have been here before.
What newcomers?
