So I'm almost out of cologne (Cool Water ATM) and I want to replace it with Sagebrush by AO For Men, but it turns out that it's really hard to find. What do other people use? Maybe I'll try something new.
I've fallen out of the cologne habit recently, but the last one I wore was Tom Ford.

I'm not much of a cologne guy. English Leather always reminds me of my dad, though.

It is illegal in 9 countries. But it is worth it: 80% of the time, it works every time.

Desire smells like that to some people.
I have never understood why men wear Cologne.
I can see why you wouldn't understand, as you probably can't smell perfume/cologne on others at that altitude.

I enjoy the scent of a woman. Why a man would want to wear perfume is beyond me.
It might be cultural. Most men here do not use cologne, at least in my age demographic, and so I usually associate the smell of cologne with guys who are compensating.
Yes, that's exactly what it is. :showoff:

That's probably reading more into it than there is; though without a doubt there are some people - men and women - who wear perfume in an obnoxious fashion.
IMO, you should only be able to smell someone's perfume if you are in very close physical proximity (i.e. when you'd enjoy the scent of a woman, even if she wasn't wearing perfume) or very very briefly in passing.

That probably has something to do with it. Whenever I smell the cologne it is being used by someone that is wearing way too much of it - hence the reason I can smell it.

I would have thought that women would be attracted to men who dont need such a thing. But I think Jacob's point is valid. I dont know about the men who wear a more subtle scent because I cant smell it. The guys who I do notice using it are definitely paying for sex.
I go for the cheaper end (virtually a neophyte as I used to be deathly allergic) and stick with D&G scents. Earlier this year I found out my uncle wears one of the same ones. :o
I go with whatever somebody gives me for Christmas--I can usually count on enough people giving me giftsets then to last the whole year.

YSL rive gauche pour homme.
It was picked out for me several years ago by a girlfriend who was into scents, and had a book rating them like wine and such. It's not overpowering on the subway or something, but gives me and my clothes a distinctive smell. And everybody's liked it to the point where I just use no-scent antiperspirant with a few dabs of cologne.
So I just got back from Sephora. (https://languish.org/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi409.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fpp177%2Falfonso_castro%2Frandom%2Fgay.gif&hash=2a75a1d1ff1a15a3739e47c33d3303dae7d53044)
I smelled a ton of stuff there, including some of the stuff people mentioned earlier.
Allure by Chanel: this smelled like a gayed-up version of Stetson to me. Did not like.
YSL pour homme: the smell was ok, but really subtle. I'm not the subtle type.
Tom Ford: they had three Tom Ford colognes there. I liked Tom Ford for Men, disliked Tom Ford Noir (too spicy), but I LOVED Tom Ford Grey Vetiver. I sprayed some of it on myself when the homo salesmen weren't hovering and it's 'aging' really well also.
I also liked Polo Red, and would say that one is my #2 choice. Princesca made me try one called Pi by Givenchy that she liked, but it only smelled ok to me.

No, I think plenty of gay people would also find it a bit odd; I think it's better to describe it as rather precious to be that into scent. :P

They like to smell nice, some women really like it, and it shows that a person is willing to take that extra step to look (and smell) good, much like a good pair of leather shoes worn with a pair of jeans.
I love cologne on a man, so long as it's not too heavily perfumed or too strong smelling.

Haven't tried the 32 version. I did like Tempore for a while but found it too sweet in the end.
Running low on Tom Ford Grey Vetiver, so I swung by Sephora today to smell some more colognes and see if I might want to make a change.
I came away liking Eros by Versace best but a lot of online reviews poo-poo it as an office scent, and come to think of it (I'm wearing it now) it does smell more like a 'date' cologne.
I also liked Bleu de Chanel, Gentlemen Only by Givenchy (I got a sampler of that last time I bought Grey Vetiver), and Only The Brave by Diesel.
Thoughts, other than "you're a giant faggot"?
Giant? Hardly.
Nah.
Only soap and shampoo are allowed on my skin.

About to run out of Bleu de Chanel, so I'm rebooting the thread.
I put Gentlemen Only on one wrist and then Issey Miyake on the other, and Princesca seems to prefer the Gentlemen Only wrist. :hmm:
Chanel Antheus. It is very earthy, subtle, understated. I like it a lot and have been using it, almost exclusively, for the last decade at least.
D. uses Tom Ford, but I find it too ghey.
I like Tom Ford Gray Vetiver but regular Tom Ford doesn't do much for me. I smelled it again today at Sephora and graded it a 'c'.
I stopped by Floris today and picked up one of their sandalwood concoctions.
