Question:
Do you have a paid position where you work at least 37.5 hours per week?
Option 1: Yes - I work more than my share, damnit!
Option 2: No - but I'm retired, so it's all good.
Option 3: No - and if you're hiring, here's my resume!
Option 4: SAHP - I work from home, carin' for the chillin'.
It seems that a remarkable number of Languishites do not have a paying gig at the moment. Some are by choice but it seems that quite a few are not.
Lolz.

All of them. Nyuk nyuk.
I work about 8 months a year, full time.
Yes, but I'm half-tempted to shove CdM's resume under my boss' door and walk away from it.

Yeah. Can't move because of the kids and mortgage.
I have some experience in supply chain, budgeting, requirements management, documentation, and general analysis ("WE NEED TO FIND OUT WHY X IS GOING DOWN THE TUBES STAT").
I work full-time, but would be willing to take a paycut to work only 4 days a week. :(

Yes, if you don't mind me asking, what kind of benefit? SSA DIB? SSIDI? Different rules.
Social Security disability. Getting a job might be neat!
I got a job, with a part time gig, and a couple of start up schemes on the side.

Retired and full time job.
RAZ, DIB? so you worked before? or off a parents record?
This year the Substantial Gainful Activity level is $1040 a month. You have a trial work period, 9 months within 5 years, any month you earn $750 of more counts to that trial work period. if you stay under that $750 it never affects you. During those 9 months you can earn over the SGA limit of $1040 without losing the benefit for those 9 months. If you reach 9 months of TWP, SSA will do a continuing disability review to decide if your benefits continue or not. If the continue, you still have the SGA limit of $1040 a month.
If you receive SSI (never worked, low SSA benefit) on the first of the month ($710), anything over $65 a month starts to reduce it, this one is a benefit based on income or resources.
If you prefer, you can PM me, I'll guide you to the proper info at ssa.gov.
I have a social worker, maybe I can ask her.
Yes, work is good for you, even a part time, get you out of the house for a bit.
Yeah, I'm thinking so. I get ever so board and lonely. I would just hope I could keep a job. I'm still kind of insane and that has caused problems before in the workplace.

Yes, a full time + Navy reserves.
What is your rank, and when will you retire?
HT1/E-6. I don't want to be selected as chief, so I may have sabotaged myself a bit. I'm tired of the paperwork, supervising kids, conference calls and constant emails.
19 years in, I have a bad year to redo, so Jan 2015.
Ugh, I am a not-quite 9 year E-6 (which is pretty fast for active USAF)...and I am already in paperwork/admin hell.
I shudder at the prospect I might age out to E-9 before I hit 20. :(

1996, Dad decided to get cancer and die on me. I missed one to many drills, and did not have enough drill points that year to make it a "good" year that counts towards retirement.
I love conquering admin/paperwork and trying to better the kids. :D
Currently E-6 with 7 years, but hope to retire at O-6 with 44 years. Fantasy dream is O-8, but I doubt that I will be willing to do the doctoral degree/publications that will require.
Good luck with that. Not for me, but sure hope you make it.

But it depends on what you mean as fulltime. If you mean fulltime, permanent, then no.
I should be back in a week or two, but in the meantime, no paycheck.
I get paid for one but I don't work one.
Yes, but I'd prefer a 25 or 30 hour job.
Yes. My normal contract states that I work just 35 hours a week, which is considered full-time. However right now it is close to about 43 hours or so and paid accordingly.

Yep, around 40-43 hours per week, barring extra time.

It would be more effective wrapping it around a brick and throwing it through the window, but I don't think that's the message to send.
I feel I'm at that point now, though. These damned online application systems will be the downfall of western civilization.
Full time job, 40hrs per week. Good vacation and benefits for a US company. Five weeks vacation per year. Decent medical, low cost for me as I use the hospital system's insurance plan, which includes all my doctors as one of the hospitals and many doctor offices are in my hometown. I have over 400 hours accumulated sick time, which has come in very handy the last year as I was out sick for a month then a couple other weeks later on.
Getting close to early retirement which I can do in a year and a half if I can swing the medical insurance before Medicare kicks in.
Good going to those of you in the military reserves. I was in the reserves, thought of doing 20, but got out early after my second enlistment. Just got tired of it, which was dumb on my part since I liked the military. Almost went back in a couple times though.

Good point. As for me, I work in IT, application support for the financial and medical systems, so the pay is decent. Has to be to attract the various network, hardware, application, and all other sorts of people needed to run so many IT systems for a health care network with many hospitals, doctor offices, clinics. There are a lot of people behind the scenes needed to keep the systems going..

Man, I was pretty sick! Pulmonary embolism, blood clot in the lung. Probably lucky it didn't kill me. In hospital for five days, then at home recuperating for a few weeks. I was sore for a day or so, thought it was back pain or a strain. Then it woke me up one night, real bad, and I knew it was something else. It was in my chest, tough to breathe, figuring it was something like pneumonia. So I went to the hospital. Foolishly drove myself, realized afterwards that I should have called an ambulance.

Goddamn, son. Very lucky it didn't kill you.
My friend's wife actually had two of those happen at the same time driving home one night. She will never win the lottery, since her remaining horseshoes fell out of her ass that night.

I work for an electrical contractor at one of the largest hospitals in the Portland area. One of the first projects I did there was in the Emergency Department and there was some Clinical Technology
TM stuff in my way that had to be moved, but I had no idea what it was. I called the guy in charge and he came down to look; when he got there he asked if I was ready to move it. I said 'yes' and he said that today was time for an "unplanned outage" drill and just starting unplugging shit everywhere. I almost had a heart-attack, but obviously the stuff was pretty low priority stuff-patient monitoring, nurse call and some other "non-essential" stuff. It still cracks me up every time I see the guy.
I'm on vacation right now but I still have a full time job.

Yes, the medical people use bedside scanning. For instance, they'll scan a patient's wristband, then scan the bar code on the meds they're giving which will confirm the correct meds. Things like that and more, such as part of the Medical Admin Record. I don't deal as much with the clinical side though.
Yeah, drugs and blood is tracked with barcodes here too but I would love to have it with all medical paraphernalia - gauze, catheters, thing slike that. What I'd want is to tie that medical data we have with our economy database so that cost per patient can be more effectivly followed and in the long run even optimize stock levels kanban style.
