So let the speculation begin. On March 6, P'dox will announce 3 new games, 4 new expansions, gameplay reveals and updates etc.
Stellaris 2.
I'll care when they have something worth caring about. :glare:
Fool me once shame on you, fool me a half dozen times shame on me  :P

Because EUIV starts so early the gameplay 1648-1815 is unsatisfactory; maybe Paradox will take a look at that, or even a shorter time period say 1770-1815 :hmm: ?
Hopefully, the successor to Cities: Skylines.
Two of the expansions will be for CK3 and EU4.
CKIV that transitions into EUV and then morphs into Stellaris 2.
I assume a CK3 expansion of some sort. I'll be happy with that. I've enjoyed CK3 the last times I've played it.

One would think the French Revolution/Napoleonic Era would be fresh meat for them. Right in their wheelhouse. Yet they screw it up majorly every time they try.
Yeah, it is a very game-friendly period; map changing every five minutes, prominent people changing constitutions, innovations in warfare....odd that they have such a big gap in their offering.

Yeah, illustrates the problem really. The game is designed around cars with a pretty unrealistic way of handling them. Going non car focussed involves being really hacky.
quite a bit of stuff that got presented.
The obligatory DLC
and a bunch of new games, including a new Cities Skylines, something The Sims(ish) and something that had Jagged Alliance vibes.
But that's just going by a very cursory look.
All that sounds extremely boring. :hmm:
But I guess it depends on what the specifics of the DLC are.
Sounds like I might get my wish.
Which really considering the same devs did the cities in motion games is well overdue
The battletech people's interwar adventure tactics game seems intriguing. Rest is extremely meh.
Super Excited about Cities Skylines 2, obviously. I don't mind if it's still car centric. I like playing traffic management sim.
The Lamplighters League tactical games sounds fun and seems to build on the systems of their Prohibition era tactical game Empire of Sin with a more interesting premise.
Life by You, finally a competitor to the Sims.
I don't care about CK3 or EU4. Did not bother watching those parts.
Also super-excited by Cities Skylines 2
Somewhere between GF and Jos on traffic.
so what is this Paradox Tectonic?
I shouldn't have hoped for a grand strategy game.
As for cites: skylines I won't buy it if it doesn't have a better economic layer and more clarity.
As for CK3 I'm glad they are making use of the 3d elements which are redundant in other games.
Paradox is teasing something new.
Something unprecedented is on the horizon, something yet to unfold, something entirely new.
The dawn rises on the beginning of Human society...

"The dawn rises on the beginnings of human society..."
My guess is some sort of civilization scope game - start your civ and grow it through the ages.
Alternately, a dawn of civilization era Paradox standard Clausewitz engine game somewhere in the 3,000 BCE to 0 CE range.
Surely they've been burned on that one with their two shots at Rome.
Cavemen tribes DOWing each other and then settling for white peace. 😁

Neolithic to Bronze Age perhaps?
This seems to be in development from C Prompt Games with Paradox as publisher. Someone on Reddit found a Twitter account called "Millennia", followed only by Paradox and C Prompt.

"We're creating an epic new strategy franchise!"
There's three pieces of concept art on the page, which may or may not be relevant to the game, but one is also in the YouTube link's "waiting" screen.

QuoteC Prompt Games is an independent studio founded by Robert Fermier and Ian M. Fischer, now joined by veteran Art Director Brian Sousa.
Our leadership includes experienced developers who have worked on or led the creation of some of your favorite games, including System Shock 2, Age of Mythology, Age of Empires 2: The Age of Kings, Orcs Must Die, StarCraft, Diablo, and WarCraft.
We love deep games with systems-based designs, high degrees of replayability, and strong emergent narrative – we want you to create your own stories as you play.
With that kind of pedigree - an RTS, maybe in the style of Empire Earth or Rise of Nations?
The concept art suggests neolithic start, ending with slightly futuristic underwater cities (presumably due to climate change).
Ayn Rand's Civilization?
BioShock: Bronze Age?
Civilizations
If it's an RTS I am not going to bother. I have fond memories of Empire Earth LAN sessions at work but I just can't get into RTSes anymore.

Overlooked another piece of art on the devs' website. It showed up in today's teaser (there's been teaser posts from CK3, AOW, EU4, and V3 so far, with HoI4 and Stellaris still to come.

The dawn rises on the beginning of Human society ...
... people bowed to the reign of kings and queens ...
... (Time spins on) with legends ushering in a new age of heroes ...
... the Renaissance unlocked new ways of thinking ...
... allowing many to rise above what was thought possible ...
This is starting to remind me of Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends.

The steampunk mod for Civ 2 was absolutely great. Steampunk should always be a player option in these games, not base game, though.

That picture is not a Zeppelin, it is a fantasy boat on a balloon.
That said Zeppelins barely feature in V3 and I'd appreciate a zeppelin LDC.

New turn-based 4X stretching into the future. Looks very similar to Old World.
I'm pretty skeptical.
Carefully optimistic.
Ever since original Civ: Call to Power 1 stretched its 4X to to 3000 AD with a hypothetical "future history" I've been hoping someone would try that again (they tried a lot more to shake up the formula, some good , some bad, but few have tried to tweak it as much since then).
Also, I like that they let you customize your civ as you play, picking traits/modifiers as you move along. Kind of what I hoped Humankind would do as a way of civs being hard locked into certain play styles.
Curious about what their "deep economy" will look like.
I like this: "Variant and Crisis Ages feature unique alternatives, introducing everything from Cloud Estates in the Age of Aether to underwater cities in the Age of Utopia" - it seems you can eschew the "normal" steam age in favor of steampunk in certain conditions? Yes, please! (Unless it becomes a no-brainer choice.)
Fingers crossed this will a success like Age of Wonders 4 and not a dud like Empire of Sun. :)
Also, after dethroning Sim City they're going after The Sims and Civ now. Can't fault their ambition. :P

So far yes. Not really followed it much, but it seems their main selling point is making it a lot more moddable than The Sims?

I was amused by the fact that the "build zeppelins" mission timed out in the early 1870s, more than 20 years before they ever appeared IRL. Even later, Zeppelins are never worth the research cost.

It was supposed to time out in the 1970s. Just the led ones.
