Title: Thinking about getting a New monitor in addition to current.
Post by: Alcibiades on July 30, 2011, 09:42:57 AM
Been wanting another monitor for my setup, currently have a 24" gateway from Grumblers advice back a couple of years ago.

Newegg has a couple of good deals, so im considering picking up a 27" , http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824016155.

But, since I currently have a 24" screen, I'm thinking the lack of uniformity may be annoying.  If so I was considering buying this 24" asus: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236102

Thoughts?  Would love a 27" monitor, but if it won't be right next to the 24" would just be a waste of time.

I wouldn't do too much of a mismatch, either.

As for Asus monitors, I have two (though the second was just commissioned today).  So far, I really like them.

the mistmatch is only in esthetics, not in functionality.  It looks better on your desk to have two identical monitors.  Otherwise, it works fine.

I recently bought two Nec MulstiSync EA231WmMi for my office, and I love them :)  I paid about 200$ for each, and they're excellent quality for office work.
