Title: About to upgrade processor
Post by: Scipio on March 01, 2017, 01:14:27 PM
Aging LGA 1155 mobo in great shape; just got in i5-3450 to replace my i3. Will see if this will help on Witcher 3 (rendered unplayable at preferred graphics level after GOTY update) and also on DA:I and let me go to ultra on some two year old shooters.

After stupidly relying on stock cooler applied thermal paste, then reinstalling fan, it emerges that the stock cooler fan is a fucking shitshow rattletrap.

If it fits into your case, this is great:

Also, the Arctic something thermal paste is the best around, apparently.  5$ a tube, give or take.

Went with Evo 212 from CoolerMaster. I do have Arctic Heat thermal paste.
