Good job, you found a lackluster review.  Here's a positive one: http://www.nbcnews.com/technology/kindle-fire-review-yes-its-good-119125

I haven't really heard much negative from anyone else who has actually owned one, particularly when taking the price into consideration.

If I had to pull out a negative, only main one for me is sometimes (like maybe a few times a week) it'll freeze briefly when trying to perform some operation. However, considering that computers do that to me - at least a few times a day...:D

Oh and languish can be hard to read if someone posted a large image.

I didn't cherry-pick.  I went to Ars cause that's the tech cite I check daily.  So that's probably why I thought "it got lack-lustre reviews".

Mind you I can't find ANY other reviews for the original version, so maybe it did after all...

Raz, why not just look out of the window a lot, possible accompanied by some tunes, you never know what you'll see or what thoughts/ideas it might prompt.

That's the one thing about not taking long train journeys I miss nowadays.

Oh and Raz have a good holiday.

He'll be driving through southern Illinois.  That part of the country is a mind numbingly dull.

Come on, one way or the other it must provoke some thoughts ?

Maybe it'll induce giant balls of string hallucinations ?

Endless miles of cornfields do not provoke thoughts-- at least not positive thoughts.

Seconded. Midwest is rather boring.

HEY NOW.  Southern Illinoisians are good peeps.  I mean, they're not Cubs fans FFS.
