Never played a tomb raider game.  I think I may have played the demo of the first game, but never got the hang of it.  I found it frustrating and all I wanted was to see that dinosaur. :Embarrass:
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Playing Tomb Raider - liking it so far. Granted, the only other Tomb Raider game I ever played through was Legends.

Still, having a good time so far. It's pretty dark and gritty, and whenever you think you're getting somewhere, the plot stomps on Lara some more. In a way it feels like Tomb Raider meets Die Hard (the original) with all the punishment Lara is put through. :pinch:

I die a lot in this game. Watching a woman get strangled to death and then shot in the face five times in a row is a little intense.  :(

I'm 4 hours in (on normal), beyond the temple with the weird huge guys. I find it actually rather easy so far and have considered playing on hard instead - and I don't generally consider myself an action game afficionado.

I like the level of detail they've put into Lara. Every stage adds more cuts and bruises to her. The game says I'm about 33% through and she looks like hell.

I'm also surprised how well combat works. It's really fluid and dynamic. Some reviews have criticized that Lara automatically enters combat stance and also automatically enters/leaves cover. I actually enjoy the way it's handled, because it eliminates the whole "hit button to enter cover" thing that can lead to awkwardness in some games. The enemies often use molotov cocktails or flaming arrows, forcing you to change cover pretty often, so it's not the usual shooting gallery you find in cover shooters (hide behind something, peak out and headshot enemies). Melee has a few simple attacks that are very serviceable.

Also, the bow is pretty fun.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

I really liked that one.  Two masks make it much easier.  The dog mask makes it so dogs don't attack you, and unicorn mask makes all gunshots silent.  You want to get high scores you pick the grasshopper mask.  Then you get the drill...

Started playing dishonored.  I like it, despite being the worst wizard-assassin in the world.  I haven't killed anyone!

I'm guessing from your nickname the game isn't all that good.

I bought Dishonored a while back and only now starting to play it.  It's not bad, though I can't help but think that people would be put off if they were approached on a dark street by a man in a black cloak wearing an steel skull mask holding a beating human heart in one hand and a big knife in the other.  But, no they seem cool with it for the most part.

I beat Dishonered.  I didn't get the clean hands achievement, which is annoying.  I don't know who I killed.

It might have been in the sewers.  Probably someone unconcious got eaten by a rat.  THe problem of playing without killing is that it's not as fun.  I'm going to go through again murdering.
