I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Doesn't really matter which is coolest, they'll all disappear from the face of the planet within decades anyway.

Don't most big cats have large enough captive populations so that they'll only go extinct in the wild?
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Well, that makes it fucking OK then, now doesn't it?

Tim wants to be Bruce Dern in Silent Running
I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

Timmay needs to go extinct in the wild.

Tigers are mean.
Tigers are fierce.
Tigers have teeth
and claws that pierce.

Tigers are great,
they can't be beat.
If I was a tiger,
that would be neat.

Tigers are nimble
and light on their toes,
my respect for tigers
continually grows.

Tigers are great!
They're the toast of the town.
Life's always better
when a tiger's around!

Tigers are perfect,
the e-pit-o-me
of good looks and grace
and quiet dignity.

QuoteThis cheetah kitten named Nala was in Namibia Africa when I was visiting some friends of mine this past summer. Her mother was killed by a car, so my friends kindly took care of her. She was well fed and had 44,000 acres to roam around in and be safe. Enjoy!

I hope for the cat's sake the above is incorrect, and that she was given to the appropriately trained personnel at a proper conservation facility.  But I fucking doubt it.

Actually, I wonder if this is the same one:

Same name, although that could just be a common name (there's another one, or at least I think it's another one, named Nala that is being monitored by Cheetah Conservation Botswana) given to these things over there.  Anyway, it's in Namibia, the thing is pretty comfortable with people, etc.  That Sandfontein place is a protected area.

That's cool.  My righteous indignation is mildly de-indignated now.

Of the options, tiger.

Given an open playing field, it'd be a toss-up between ocelots and servals for me.  I want a cat that'll go swimming with me. :P
